Harris Teeter has plans for new Kitty Hawk store

Seamark in nags head closed in Nov 2007. The owners never tell you what's going on, my friend worked there, and they didn't tell the employees they were closing until 2 weeks before they closed. Nice way to treat their dedicated employees huh! Harris teeter will do good in KH. If seamark treated their workers better,and lowered their prices they could still be in business. The walters seem to only care about their own wallet, and they seen to always be able to travel so if they were hurting for money they wouldn't be able to do that. harris teeter we welcome you.

Can hardly wait for Harris Teeter to open in Kitty Hawk! Is this a done deal or a maybe?
I know they would do fabuously on this end of the beach! We all drive 8 to 10 mile for their bread alone!

Harris Teeter has made it thru the Planning Board and is now onto the Council in a week or so. It will probably be a year before it's complete unfortunately.

OBXer it is apparent you like me, read all the forums dealing with the Outer Banks. I too wonder how much longer the investigation will last, and when will the KDHPD ever get straight? Probably, a good thing Harris Teeter decided on a KH location!

This was my response to OBXer's question that was also on another forum.

The KDHPD is a mess and continues to be a mess. According to the newspaper, during the last Town Hall Meeting, Interim Police Director, Dana Harris stood to tell the citizens of KDH they are safe. I am not sure how safe the citizens and children that attend schools in KDH really are. The KDHPD has changed schedules. So now at times, there has been only 1 officer working by themselves during the day and night times. With the news of the predators around the County and lack of coverage in KDH, I have began to not allow my child too far out of my site and hope other parents will do the same.
