....all this thread proves is that no matter what people wiill cry no matter what you do as a manager.
If I promote a Black the white gets mad and says it's race,if I promote a White the black says it's race and if I promote a women everyone says it cuase I'm horny, all of you need to shut up and read what it is you write then you might realize how stupid all of you look.

i currently work for kroger, i've never met an employee above tech that isnt white, white employees get access to all the training and info they need to move up, the minorities are expected to just do there job and be thankful, even when they move our lunch back three hours so they can get the shipment out. sure they post for positions, but they pick who they are going to promote first. hell sometimes the people they pick start doing the job before its even posted.

i agree i wrk for them now they brought a girl in my dept gave her my hrs and i got bumped down isnt there sinority laws they follow my first day there i got put in my place by one girl that i was low man and would never have more hrs than them

i agree with bill. we kroger people have to work hard to get what we want. it doesn't matter if you're white like me or black like you sounds to me like you just don't want to work hard and you are using your skin color as an excuse. get over it or quit like bill said.

grivances do do good when filed right. the union is their to help us and protect us. you sound like you might be from the east side of toledo. i grew up on the east side of toledo things back then were alot better than what they are nowadays. people just act so stupid anymore i'm a kroger employee in the mid-atlantic division and i don't think that i would want to work at kroger in toledo either, and i really like my job. i'd have to transfer somewhere else because i wouldn't want to quit. have your daughter check into tranferring to another store. why don't she try to transfer to the kroger in perrysburg. that's a good size store and it's only 12 miles from toledo. i know i was born in toledo and graduated from perrysburg high school back in 1983 maybe if she did that they might treat her better at a different store. good luck to your daughter and her job i hope things get better for her.

i disagree i also work for kroger they HAVE to start you out at minimum wage the longer you are there the more you're gonna make. just like any other job. i've been there for almost 6 years and the new hire are making only 7.25 and hour and i'm making way more than that. and yes i'm only part time. i'm also female, so don't know what your problem is but get over it kroger does not discriminate.

Good post, see people want to start at the top and work the're way up.No one wants to work for a living ,the women you responded to ...it was her daughter...well maybe her daughter is a bad employee!

I work there and all they care about is seniority and that's only when its in their favor u are probably a vp that is trying to cover for kroger I talk to my coworkers and the way we are treated hurts morale so know what ur talking about first and that is for all employees black white or whatever the system rarely is base on merit

Kroger maybe a nice company to work for but the store managers discriminate a whole lot..My store manager is white but whenever he can treat me like crap he makes every effort to succeed. Having or being in the union sucks.The union is totally a waste of time. Management never put the blame on the department head, but rather blame the other associate.The Kroger managers need to get some balls and get real.Accept the staff u have because some place are worse than your store

sounds like you are crying over nothing. kroger hasd to go by seniority when it comes time to post jobs, and WHITE PPL don't get paid higher than black ppl do. do you know how stupid that sounded. i also work for kroger and I ALSO THINK THAT THEY ARE A GREAT COMPANY TO WORK FOR. sounds to me like maybe you're jealous because someone got the job over you. quit whinning about it and get on withyour life.

if store management does something that you don't like, just remember store management is NOT UNION LIKE US EMPLOYEES ARE. they don't care.

she maybe a bad employee hard to tell. i wish i could have started at the top and kept going up anyone would take a job like that. that kind of job would be great but unfortantely it don't work that way. golly gee too bad.:)

THEY DON'T POST JOBS FOR MGMT POSITIONS YOU HAVE TO GO TO SCHOOL FOR THAT and the district manager IS THE ONE WHO GETS TO CHOSE WHO THEY WANT IN EACH STORE. YOU SEE I WORK FOR KROGER TOO. THE EMPLOYEES AT KROGER WHEN JOBS ARE AVAILABLE THEN THEY POST THEM FOR ANY EWMPLOYESS IN THAT DISTRICT WHO WOULD BE INTERESTED IN THAT JOB HIGHEST SENIO PERSON THAT SIGNED FOR IT WILL BE AWARDED THE JOB. MANAGEMENT POSITION JOBS ARE ONLY FOR MANAGERS AND ASSISTANT MANAGERS NOT EMPLOYEES SO GET OVER YOURSELF YOU HAVE TO GO TO SCHOOL AND MAJOR IN MANAGEMENT DEPARTMENTS BEFORE YOU WILL EVEN BE CONSIDERED BEING ASST MGMT OR MANAGER.
