I imagine that Giant Eagle will build a few stores and if business is good they will buy Marsh. They want to have 20 billion in sales by 2020, the only way to do that is to buy another large chain.

This is what they did in Columbus and eventually bought Big Bear.
They also have a better market share when competing head to head with Kroger.

Marsh is going bankrupt. There will be more stores shuttered in the next year according to a friend in central office. The people stocking shelves at $10+ an hour are not needed.

Nowdays $10 per hour isn't much more than minimum wage. Any employer paying less than that will have significant turnover because their employees are constantly leaving. It's worth it to pay a bit more in order to maintain a reliable workforce.

You are missing the + here. Benefits are costly. Hourly rate a pittance.

If Marsh wants to save real money, they could fire about 90% of the administrative staff, instead of the people whose work actually keeps the the stores open.

$10.00 per hour is a good wage. You can own a home, send your children to college, drive a fine auto-mobile,cover mercurial medical expenses and eat well. You can certainly live the American-dream on $10.00 an hour. That's a good wage. More than a good wage.

American workers ask way too much of their employers. That's why companies had to go to China. You should support American companies moving to Mexico and China. You should support the politicians that write legislation rewarding those companies with more taxbreaks simply for moving offshore. When Biff,Buffy and Chad are given taxbreaks, they buy Italian cars and Italian bags for themselves and their wives. That helps improve the American economy. That helps to lift the standard of living for the retail employee selling those items..

Vote Republican. Live The Dream.

Hell, why work? Just have 12 kids, smoke crack and collect welfare. Who needs 10$ an hour when the government will give you free housing and foodstamp? As long as you have your big screen and entitlements there is no need to work. Thanks to emperor Obama, we now have free health care. My Obamaphone is great. I actually have 3 of them. They get re upped each month.

So why be a law abiding, educated, productive member of society when we get all this free stuff? I have a dream. Vote democrat.

I am entitled to a soccer field. And the mayor will have the taxpayers build it for me. That is the Republican way. We must help the billionaires maintain their elegant and dainty lifestyles. That's what taxpayer dollars are for.
