For me personally, I consider it Main Street Lincolnton...I live close to this junkyard as it stands now and my mail comes to a Lincolnton address.

But I guess its Boger City on the map. There is a few places (stores/etc) in Boger City that I never heard of and I supposely live in Boger City. And Ive looked up on Google Street View before and its a complete shock at times.

Like hearing about places that I never heard of and peoples views on Boger City to me is like...weird to me...because I am in my early twenties and I do drive...but I never seen these places. lol

OMG we need another grocery store like we need another bank. Come on people...get some entertainment in Lincolnton for pete sakes, not another grocery store!!
As big as that building was, they could have given Lincolnton back the skate rink and bowling ally and all the other places the kids could go and have fun.
If Lincolnton keeps thisup it makes us look like a retirement community and everyone from Florida will be coming here before soon.
Geeze!

Granted seems to tip the scales of Grocery Stores but its not the usual. Most of us around this area is use to Bi-lo, Food Lion and HT. So, a place like an Ingles or the other rumored Lowes would be atleast something NEW and different.

They are talk about the whole BiLo/FoodLion thing going on right now with buyouts and stores being for sell and what not. Its just like when Winn-Dixie left.

Something newer, bigger and different is a change. And there is enough land beside it to build outward retail. And land on the other side of Peoples bank and behind Peoples bank.

Family Entertainment, is needed it is but I think its more likely we will see a Dave&Busters before we see a JUST FE type place.

Based upon your comments, I've reached the inevitable conclusion that you were a lousy employee that mistakenly believed you were invaluable. Furthermore, you're also a very small, unaccomplished and unhappy person. But we do miss the "I'm The Most Pathetic Employee" bullseye you wore on your dirty T's. Everyone thought that was very funny.

Ingles sounds good to me, i would like to see lowes come back to lincolnton, but if that can't be ,then Ingles is find. the 3 stores now in lincolnton seems to think they are the only ones good enough to make it here. i welcome something new. IS anyone old enough to remember joe & jim's food store there in boger city. I really miss that store. that was back in the day.....
about Ingles , i have tryed them in other cities, they seem to be o.k.

I really enjoyed reading Fridays people where the 1st line mentioned my posting name. ;) Something still feels fishy about the whole thing and I kind of expected more.

Like when they opend that new Harris Teether toward East Lincoln. Remember how the front page had a picture of the plans and a more indepth look at the place?

The Ingles seems to be just someones idea that is going with the flow. Because the newest article on this mentions that they are working close with an Ingles rep this time yet when the paper called the rep a few weeks ago they didnt get an answer on the matter.

I dont remember Joe and Jims by name but I am sure I went there a few times as a little little child as I do remember Sky City and some little food store that I thought was located where BB&T is currently housed. I also remember the neighborhood video store out in Boger City.

Thats the thing though, growing up seems like I went everywhere in Lincolnton to all sorts of stores that look totally different today or nothing there at all now or a Bank is sitting on the land.

Today it seems like all we have is Walmart and The Big Three.:( You mentioned Lowes returning. In another thread on another site I read where someone mentioned that Lowes use to be in the current Big Lots...funny to me because the oldest thing I remember there was uh...Double H? Triple H? Buffet...something like that??? or atleast in that area...

I think Topix would like you to believe that, or have their advertisers believe it. It appears grossly inflated.

I agree that a newer Harris Teeter is needed or atleast certainly on the horizon simply because Food Lion has been remodeled a few times as well as BI-LO and Harris Teeter has been just the same for many many years. So, it would seem that a change will be coming esp. when its out of date compared to other HT's. The company needs a standard to up hold and it doesn't have a pharmacy or so of the larger features that the bigger HTs have.

Im not sure if there is enough room next to the hospital but it would seem that the further away it was from Ingles the better it is with Food Lion being right across the street from Ingles that seems like the biggest threat however its all about which is easier in the long run. Some customers might not wanna cross and go down in the gulley to reach food lion while others don't wanna go all the way across town to bilo so it works out.

Currently the bid sites have a service station listed as being built but it does appear they are clearing off for more than just the ingles gas station so it would appear that the Ingles is being built soon. As for HT, ever so often a bid does pop up to update a local store but it usually ends up being either CVS, Bilo, Foodlion or a store in Denver.

Kroger has bought out Harris Teeter. Look for either big changes or a closing of the Lincolnton HT in the next few years.

I agree with Paulie...Harris Teeter in Boger City is toast. If Ingles doesn't do it, then the Kroger buy-out will. I hate that. I live in C'ville and stop by Harris Teeter often. I miss the one we had, but Wally World killed it. And for all of those throwing off on "Bugger City"......don't take it for granted. You can take away everything west of Walgreens and still have more than we do.
