Why is the Parks department even allowing Trump to develop on Jones Beach? And now Trump wants damages for delay in permit? What greed! As a former Long Islander my 1st impression is - we don't want Trump. Don't come in here with your upscale plans and try to make Jones Beach a place for the rich. This isn't West Palm Beach.

You obviously have never owned a business before, especially on LI. Land belongs to who ever has the "in" with the politicians. If this was infact public land, then why do you have to pay to use it in the summer? Shouldn't your yearly state taxes be paying for this "public land"? School taxes are the convient excuse, the smoke screen> There is more waste and bloat in county gov't, town gov't and the unfunded mandates from state gov't..

The Jones Beach boardwalk and oceanfront is one of the few remaining unspoiled property's in Nassau County. A Trump catering hall would be a crushing blow to this pristine area. The filing of these lawsuits makes it crystal clear that Trump is a ruthless, individual filled with resentment and greed. I hope it's not to late to stop this.

Why in the heck is so much attention being paid to this building? So many cockamamie excuses about why he shouldn't build, etc. If the yokels who complained here spent as much time and energy blabbing about the high cost of living on LI we'd be much better off and we'd be paying much less.

As If Long Island residents don't have enough money problems and now the state may have to spend more money to defend itself againist his frivolous lawsuit! Although I am sure that is why the suit for the $500,00.00 was filed because he is hoping they will settle to avoid that expenditure and then he hopes to get his way.
Please don't tell us how many jobs this business may bring...not enough to make a big enough difference. Don't you have enough money???

Trump will take what is Long Island's most natural and beautiful assest and ruin it forever if Long Islander's don't take a stand . A beautiful restaurant in the spirit that Robert Moses wanted for this beautiful spot is what should be built. Nowhere is the Robert Moses name represented in the park but his vision is a testiment to excellance. We have to preserve this stretch of natures gift for the generations that follow on Long Island. If not then it will become just another piece of land that has buildings adorning the shoreline and it will have lost it's beauty for all to come. Once a shoreline is lost it's lost forever.
