I hope he doesn't get F'd up for snitching on his boy. You know the shooter won't do all that much time...I mean come on, this is MN. If he has gang affiliation...well as the old 8 ball says...outlook not so good.

Rat, snitch, snitching on his boy? Are you serious? His boy put him in a bad position asking him to cover up something like that for him and threatening him. Antonio killed someone! Don't people get that? Joshua you did the right thing, in telling, it won't bring Sean back, but after Antonio is convicted and sent to prison, maybe, just maybe Sean's family will have some closure, they deserve that. Sean, you're missed!!!!

Those who live by the anti-snitch policy, die by it. Don't worry, gangbangers--when you're dead and gone, we won't utter a single word about you either. Justice will be out of YOUR grasp, too.

I think Joshua is a brave guy--stupid for hanging with a known banger, perhaps, but in the end he did the good and noble thing by putting his own wellbeing aside to bring justice for a murdered human being.

Antonio--you deserve everything that's coming your way. You--YOU--made very poor decisions and now you will pay for your crimes against humanity.

To a very long, reflective prison sentence for our neighborhood menace Antonio.

Rest in peace, Sean.

I just want to remind all readers of any newspaper, to not believe anything as a fact unless you see it with your own eyes. It's obvious that most have the reality of this whole incident twisted because I am positive that Tony was not the one who killed victim Gibbs. And Hanes is definately the wrong person to release back into soceity, by all means. I can only pray that the legal system will serve its purpose and allow for justice to be served and ultimately bring our Daddy back home where he should've been for the past seven long months

Just to let you all know that the family of Sean is completly ready and prepared to make sure that justice is served to the highest degree. Hopefully, Tony won't get out until at least his grandchildren are his present age. Joshua, on the other hand, is probably coming to his senses and realizing; and he's going to even realize more in the coming weeks that he'd better just concentrate on himself and himself only. He was lucky in helping Antonio charges be second degree instead of first degree, at least for the moment, after all, he did help cover-up the crime, so Tony should be thankful for that. But if Joshua even thinks about playing more at this stage, he'll just regret that extra 10yrs or so, on top of the time he's already going to get. He'll just hang himself even more and for what? Nothing. Antonio is doomed this time. You might as well stop wishfully thinking he is going to get off lightly or with minimum time. His luck has ran out. We are under the impression that if Antonio doesn't get the maximum sentence, that city, county, and state officials will be held accountable and may have their reputations and jobs on the line. We are demanding in this case that the system performs above its potential, because Tony has been way too lucky before, sliding through the system without any serious consequences. Again, his time has ran out,he won't get out of this one you can bet your bottom dollar. Maybe after he's old & grey a parole-board(not the 1st one) will have some sympathy for him. I doubt it but the lord works in mysterious ways.
Antonio rightfully deserves the maximum on all counts for this crime. Sean and his family deserve justice.

You can visit the website www.robertawellsconservatory.org . At the link Sean Gibbs put in the password sg97. There is a weekly prayer that you may join in asking God that the people who murdered Sean will be brought to justice. The page also has photos of Sean, poetry, music and more. For the people who talk about snitches and punks may God forgive you if you ask and if you are unrepentant may you be punished for your cold hearts and shallow minds. Sean came from an amazing diverse family that is a mix of people of African, Caucasian, Latino and Asian descent. One love. Not one of us is simple minded enough to be a gang member. Sean's father is a teacher in Madrid, Spain. I, his paternal aunt, run a small non-profit for inner city children in New York. Sean’s grandmother is a retired educator. One of his grandfathers was raised in rural Wisconsin, studied at Harvard University and then started the Minnesota non-profit Resources for Childcare. There are also artists, writers, a firefighter, ministers… We are all serving the world. Sean like many of our family members though was a late bloomer. At 21 Sean still had not made the leap into total responsible adulthood but like the rest of us if given time he would have. The problem here is not that anyone is a snitch or rat. The problem is that the people who murdered Sean were cowards and criminals. They never gave Sean his chance to live out his life and join in the successes of his family. The murderers were too weak to have an ordinary fistfight. They PLANNED to kill Sean and laid in wait for him, gun ready, insulting him so he would get out of his car. Who is guilty the triggerman or the cover up man? Both. Our family is devastated but we are not vengeful people. We pray that the murderers, their friends and family will tell the whole truth and accept their punishment from the law of the land. No one has reached out to our family to say (drum roll) SORRY. But we understand why. Because for them it's just another black kid that bit the dust. Oh well, he got his. It could have been us. That thinking is flawed because even though Sean was street wise and tough he did not have or use a GUN. People also should know that Sean would have been comfortable in ANY neighborhood. With people of ANY color because that's how he/we live(d). One moment in the streets with folks, the next with a family friend at a Summit Avenue mansion. Our saving grace as a family has been in the God who says that he hears the blood of the innocent crying out to him and commands Thou Shall Not Murder. I pray everyone well and hope they will think of Sean's mother and father who are beyond devastated at the loss of their son. Peace.

So easily convinced the public is, after knowing so little about an incident they merely read about in the newspapers or hear on the news, bri And not accurately, i must add. Antonio did not kill Sean Gibbs and I have faith that the reality of the whole story WILL surface in the next few weeks. I think it's pathedic that everyone is so quick to fabricate the elements of how this whole tragedy went down because of what people may have "heard" about my little boys father. So Josh's family was able to come up with enough money immediately -SOMEHOW- to hire an attorney so that he could weasel his way into a quick plea if he blames it all on Tony, that's too bad for society, really. In Tony's case it has taken a little longer, but we are doing the best we can to make sure that the truth will be revealed because in case you all are unaware of the fact that Tony hasn't even made a statement, yet. But anyone who has even a little bit of street smarts whatsoever, should know not to believe any of the gossip that you hear out there. I know that nobody in this world is perfect and that goes for Antonio as well as Sean Gibbs as well as for myself. But I would like to be the first to say that I am truly sorry for the loss the victim's family has been faced with because of this incident, it isn't fair by any means. I wish so very much, that I could go back to that day and change everything so none of this would have happened. But unfortunately that is not possible. Because believe me this has been the hardest thing i've ever had to deal with in my life. My son is only eleven months old and I really was not prepared to be a mom all by myself when Tony was arrested, it has been really hard on me and my poor son: emotionaly, physically, financially and even spiritually. And I know how easy it may be to automatically accept the opinion the cops have put together in regards to what they believe happened that night but I know that Tony is not the man who killed Sean. I would just like to ask that you consider keeping an open mind about what exactly really happened. And be in favor of ensuring that a thorough investigation is conducted so that real justice is served and an innocent man is not charged with a crime he didn't commit and as a result, my child never gets the chance to have his father in his childhood. I have been with Tony for the past few years and believe it or not, I can honestly say that he is probably the only reason I am still alive today, because he pretty much saved my life when no one else could have. And that's the Antonio that I have known- ultimately. He was really trying to be able to be a part of his baby's life and settle down with us but everything is a huge mess now and i pray that somehow everything gets better for everyone- if that's at all possible.

You have been hurt financially by Toni being gone? Did he have a REAL job? You were not there that night, so, you have no idea what really happened and who really shot Sean, do you? Only 4 people know for sure and 1 of them is dead. Do you think the person who was with Sean that night can identify the shooter? I'm sure they can and when all is said and done, it will show that Toni is indeed the shooter. RIP Sean!!

actually you are interpreting incorrectly because what i was referring to was the amount of money that it has costed as a result of tony being in jail. for example, the price of phone calls so my son can hear his father's voice for the seven months he has been gone, or the money needed to hire an attorney so he can possibly get the opportunity to have a private attorney represent him so that he is correctly defended and gets the chance to voice the truth of this matter on his day in court. But thanks for your foolish opinion on this subject

oh and by the way i may not have been there at the time of the shooting but i know both tony and josh, and saw them both before and after. though i am unaware of what anyone does when they are not directly in my sight, i am positive that tony is innocent.

They're both equally responsible for this & they should both be locked up.
Bree sorry your son has to grow up without a daddy but he should've thought about that before Sean lost his life. Good Luck to you & your son.
