I recently purchased a suite from these guys after seeing it in a newspaper advert. It was in stock and cheaper than the other stores I checked. The delivery driver turned up later than I was told and the sofa did come with a small amount of damage on the arm which in fairness was quickly resolved with a further dicount. All in all I would say that from the previous postings I have read on this company they seemed to be improving. My experience (although not perfect) seemed a whole heep better than some I have read.

I have had the most awful experience with Cost Plus Sofas over the last 5 months. I would beg others not to buy there. Currently I am down 1000euro which they are refusing to refund, despite selling me a faulty couch which was returned to their store last week. I think that we will end up going to the Small Claims Court which is quite stressful and annoying as we have no couch currently!

Hi, purchased bed last Monday with Cost Plus Sofas. Can anybody tell me how long it took for them to deliver the order? We 2 beds that were not in stock in that particular size. They said that they will deliver the beds in 4-6 weeks. I hope it is not going to be any longer.

After reading the deal they were advertising for easter weekend about "buying the room" I decided to pay a visit to their new store. I picked out two sofas and the deal included two side tables and a coffee table and a 42" TV. The deal including delivery came to 1998.00e which I paid for in full. The salesman assured me that there were 16 of the sofas in stock so delivery would be in 3 weeks and there some some confusion as to whether I had to collect the tv from DID myself or not. The salesman told me to contact the shop later and I would be given a code to bring to DID to collect my tv. The following sunday I called in to the shop to get the code and was told that DID would deliver the tv themselves which I was delighted with. During that week DID rang me and arranged delivery of the tv which they delivered 3 days later. Alas not such a quick outcome on the sofas. After 3 weeks I rang the shop to find out where my sofas were and I was told that there was a mistake on my order and that they would be coming in later than expected, when i pushed the salesman for a delivery date he was unable to tell me so I told him to get someone who could tell me. As you can imagine I was pretty annoyed at this point and harsh words were passed back and forwards but finally I was told that the suite would be coming in a container on the 27th of may, 8 weeks after I had ordered and paid for it. The salesman then proceeded to tell me that it takes up to 10 days for the container to clear customs which will bring the delivery time up to the second week in June, 10 weeks after puchase and 7 weeks later than I had been originally promised. I quiered about the tables that were to come with the sofas and there was some confusion as to whether there was one side table or two, I assured the salesman that when I purchased the sofas the sign on the deal clearly stated that two opus tables and one matching table were included in the deal. The salesman did offer to "loan" me furniture untill my furniture was delivered but I told him that I wanted the furniture that I paid for. I am extremely unhappy with the service that this company have given me and I still have at least 4 weeks before the furniture I have paid for arrives. To say that I am annoyed with this company is an understatement and I will definitely NOT be recommending them to anyone

i bought a package which included two seater plus three seater and two side tables plus coffee table over 3 months ago and as i write this there is no sign of my delevery date,i am outraged with this service and would never again buy from this store.I got all the excuses you could think of but what i would like to know what they are doing with peoples money when you pay your large deposit, someone has to be making interest on this when it is the peoples money because they paid theire deposits in good faith.Never again would go to this store and would never recommend it to anyone.

I would say avoid them also. I was told that I was getting discount if I bought my sofas, table and mat together, turns out it was just a regular price. Foolishly I paid upfront even though my house was not ready for a few months as it was the last suite. I was not told that I could not get a refund even prior to delivery. Two weeks later I had a call from delivery guys who were at the door with the suite - note we had not told them to deliver and the house was under going renovations. They simply wanted the space in their warehouse as they had already got my cash. When I changed my mind about the table the manager was really rude, I then bought a single mattress with the credit note which was delivered with no wrapping. Again the manager was rude querying why we refused it. Staff do not return calls, they are a joke and completely unprofessional - avoid like the plague!!!!

These people are a disgrace. Like the last poster, my sofa also burst after about 5 weeks. I was put on to a customer service manager who said they would only come out to look at it after I had paid them a call out charge. The store manager refuses to return my phone calls. These are defintely shoddy quality and I would tell everyone I meet to stay far away from these con merchants.

always remember people only write negative things if they'd had a bad experience, if you buy something and you cant find a complaint about it, are you gonna write a good review about that product? all in all, you get whay you pay for!

I have worked for a large furniture retailer in the last 4 years, its pretty hard to keep every customer happy, they cant just take back goods that are damaged there not multie millionaires, they have to get suppliers to agree to pay for replacments, if people understood how it works they wouldnt give out so much and also the public stopped buying in the better quilty stores so they had to close, also a reason I dont work now, I think people should go in to these stores talk to them, give them your concerns , let them answer, give them a chance at least I know I will be.
