Is Rose Furniture contacting their customers to inform them of their pending furniture orders? How can the consumer contact the company to find out more info. I have tried to contact company and I have not had any success.

I was told all orders pending are canceled and no refunds at all. But yet they still remain open. What a scam.

Its better to by from local dealers because you at least know who your dealing with. I built a website for local dealers in the office furniture business called. www.officefurnituresaver.com

I am a decorator and had orders pending through Rose Furniture. My sales rep was kind enough to reply to my messages. All monies (i.e) deposits from customers are frozen, meaning no money will be returned. I am in the process of sending a letter to Rose advsing them that I am a creditor and that I wish to be included in the bankruptcy precedings. Anyone whom money is owed to at this time should contact Rose via letter and advise them that you too are a creditor. My invoices list Kester Brothers & Sons as the parent company. I am still trying to find out who the corporate officers are...if anyone knows, please post their names. Thank you.

Count us among the lucky ones: we took delivery of our bedroom set just late yesterday evening (10/08.)
After talking to the driver I get the impression that the company is making every effort to get whatever they can to their customers. It was our only dealing with them, sad, but they a pleasure to deal with.

Buck Kester is president. William Global is an officer and Bob Garland is the sales manager. Rose will never make the 90 days, that they are saying, this has been coming apart for the last six months. They have no cash to return any deposits, and no manufacturers will ship anything to them. The best advice is too follow the posting from Real Life Interiors listed below.

Anyone have an address or where a letter requesting refunds, etc. should be mailed to.
Although I have little hope of recovering any money in bankruptcy.
Usually, the owners take all the money out of the accounts before proceedings start.

I have been a loyal customer to Rose purchasing over 60K of furniture over the last 13 years. They have always been reliable and I have always felt satisfied with my purchase.
We have an outstanding order with Rose,½ of the furniture is sitting at Rose the rest has not been delivered to Rose. The sales person called Friday to inform me they are liquidating the company in the next 60-90 days. He stated that we can take delivery of ½ of our order and cancel the rest. Given the situation I would expect the second half will never make it to Rose Furniture. I have tried to follow-up with Rose, but have not been able to contact anyone. All phones ring to voice mail.
I have an outstanding balance on the ½ the order, so I am hopeful they would prefer cash vs. warehousing the furniture. Given what I have read about Wood Armfield, I am concerned delivery could be a difficult, time consuming process. I can only hope the owners of Rose Furniture follow through on there promise to deliver my furniture.
Now that Rose is no longer in business, any suggestions for on an alternate source? I’d prefer a company that will take a credit card as a deposit........

I will NEVER order anything again where they do not take a credit card for deposit.
That is your only protection.

I have had furniture on order for 1-1/2 months now. I spoke to the sales person last Monday and she said for me to call back this week to give my credit card to pay the remainder even though the order would not be in until the end of Oct. I have been calling and emailing like crazy with no response. Then I went on the web site and saw the unexpected. I did pay the deposit on my credit card and will call them to fight this. It is so sad - I was recommended to Rose Furniture by many, many satisfied customers.

To anyone who has received their order, e.g. Phil from New Rochelle (posted 10/9), when did you order your furniture? I'm trying to figure out if I have any chance of getting the furniture that was ordered 6/23/06. The last thing I heard from my salesperson (on 9/18/06) was that the furniture had gotten to Rose and was forwarded on to the shipper and I should have it anywhere between 2 days and 3 weeks. That was over three weeks ago now and I don't know if any of what he told me was true or not. Of course my attempts to contact anyone at Rose have been fruitless. Has anyone actually received their order in the last month and, if so, how long ago did you order and what were you told?

Hello, I'm a reporter for the News & Record based in Greensboro, NC. I work in the High Point office and am working on some stories about Rose Furniture.
If possible, can anyone who's ordered furniture from Rose and not received it send me an email? My address is kdodd@news-record.com. Please include the date you ordered the furniture, when you were told it would be delivered. Also include if you were told of any delays and what they said they were.
Thanks for your help. I'll try and keep you updated of any developments.
Sincerely,
Kory Dodd

FYI.

I spoke with the sales person regarding my order and it is Rose’s intent to deliver any furniture which they have received. I now have a load date and a delivery timeframe for part of my order.

Rose appears to be working with the suppliers to work out an arrangement for outstanding orders. Until Rose can work out a solution with their suppliers, the rest of my order is in limbo. This, of course, could easily change by next week. I do have the option to cancel the order, but would prefer to hear how they work out the details.

I will say that my sales person has been helpful during this process. I have also spoken with one other individual at Rose who was also quite helpful. Both returned calls after leaving a voice mail…which is encouraging….The Rose employees are in the same state of limbo as the customers which makes it difficult for all involved.

It appears that Rose may intend to complete orders to the best extent possible. My gut tells me this may be correct, but the truth will be demonstrated in the execution. Your mileage may vary.....

Do you have an address to send your letter to? I'm planning to do this. Rose cashed my deposit ONE DAY before announcing their closure!!! I have been unsucessful in contacting them. My salesperson has left. Has anyone contacted the Attorney General's office? Any thoughts about a class action law suit?

Who was the salesperson who called back and was helpful to the Frustrated Customer from Austin, TX. Please post their name or something. My salesperson was pissed off to be losing her job and the fact that it was 5:30pm and the store was closed. She thought she was doing me a favor by calling me back - only to scream at me in frustration over the phone. I'm not about to travel 10 hours to "pick out something from the showroom" as was suggested by my salesperson. This is not right.

It is sad to have to say this, but the executives at Rose are crooks. We ordered furniture on 9/23. From everything I have read it is obvious that Rose was already planning their closing. Rose hired Alliance Management of Minneapolis as a restructuring consultant. This kind of decision obviously takes weeks of forethought and planning. Yet they went ahead and took our money. Here is the complete irony of the whole situation. Companies like Rose take deposits from us to ensure that if we back out of the deal they still have money to cover any time spent or orders placed. But there is absolutely no recourse for the customer. Everyone should talk to their congressman and ask them why it is OK for our laws to constantly protect the few executives who have been getting rich off of our patronage for years, but offer no protection to the working stiff when he or she gets screwed out of thousands of hard earned dollars. What Rose Furniture has done should be criminal. They have not even filed for Chapter 11 but are calling customers saying that they probably won't get their furniture or money. Look at the post above from Angela. She ordered back in June and they have been putting her off. Rose has known for a very long time that this was coming and they continued to steal our money.

Sorry, I can’t provide his name. I believe he will *not* provide much assistance at this point. If your sales person was fired, you should identify a new contact at Rose.

Given the current situation, I believe 20 (10 * 2) hour drive could be the best option. At least your drive time is only 10 hours…..

Has anyone else called the Alliance Mgt rep listed on Rose's web site, James Cullen? I have tried several times and it says "this subscriber cannot accept any more messages". Gee, what a surprise. Did anyone out there order and pay for furniture after 9/25/06? If so, when?
