And he lost to me in court when he tried to bring me in for non-payment of rent when he refused to fix things that were wrong in the apartment. And to top it off he had his workers break in to my apartment the day before court. When will they just eliminate these slumlords!!!????

Barrett tried and slumlords like Deep would always support the other guy. How much did he give to the Alcombright campaign?

Stay tuned ... the story only says Deep was "ordered" to pay the money. Given his talent for squirming out of these situations, I'd be surprised if he ever actually pays. Maybe some time in jail would help.

"Deep has been the subject of numerous building and health code violations at his rental properties, has had several of them condemned and has been either the plaintiff or the defendant in 23 Superior Court civil lawsuits since 1987.

Several of those lawsuits were lost against the City of North Adams, including one in 2004, three in 2005, one in 2006, and another in 2009.

Calls to Deep seeking comment were not returned. His attorney, Jeremia Pollard, declined to comment.

In addition to being a landlord and a construction contractor, Deep also runs an insurance business."

And that's exactly why we are FORMER CUSTOMERS of Deep Insurance!!!! We got tired of him suing Mayor Barrett and the City of North Adams. Bottom line, it amounted to him suing us.

Look you nickel dimers. The only reason you have it in for Mike Deep is because he has money and you do not. He will appeal this to a higher court and more than likely will prevail. For you idiots out there that means he will win out in the end.I realize that in North Adams if you wear clean clothes and drive a car you are thought to be rich and deemed no good because of it but so be it.

If you read this story and have any sympathy or support for Deep, you're as useless as that crumbled wall. Deep has only one concern - money - and he doesn't care who he hurts to get it. This time he got caught red-handed in one of his so-called deals. His "contracting business" is the laughing stock of the area, and he always finds ways to steal money from whoever he deals with. Go back to your desert island, Thurston, and say hi to Lovee.

So true! Deep is a disgrace and now he is teaching all his tricks to his nephew Millard. Now we will have a second generation to deal with. Nice going Mike, keep buying those Williamstown buddies free meals and trips so you can have someone to hang around with.

In the late seventy's I started my business with my eyes to the sky
In the eighty's vacant buildings I started to buy
I advertised in the big city's noting the welfare ride
I filled my units with pepole that just wanted to get high
Making a living off the suffering of others I take it in stride
It's just business is why it's ok to lie
I can walk the street with my head held high
I can look you straight in the eye
My sister sports the same haircut as I
Who am I

Here's the funny part. This case was heard by a jury a few months ago and they awarded the couple $16,000. Deep didn't want to pay that so he appealed allowing the judge to award them $200,000. Deep's appeal cost him another $184,000.

Fled U.S. to avoid federal tax evasion charges; rumored to be holed up on private Pacific island with a small cadre of trusted associates. Wife Lovey now back stateside, working Washington social circuit; lobbying for presidential pardon. Overcame youthful image as a playboy bachelor after inheriting privately held Howell Industries in 1955. Went on acquistion binge, snapping up undervalued assets, expanding into plastics, chemicals, concrete. Polished demeanor and self-deprecating manner disguise ruthless methods. Competitors, underlings never underestimate him twice. Still thought to control privately-held Howell Industries through various proxies; company has made recent push into "unsinkable" double-hulled leisure watercraft; new CEO insists on being called "Skipper." You can win anything in court. Getting paid is a whole different story.

What Mike needs is a little contempt of court and about 52 weekends at the House of Correction.

He's a strange and twisted soul. A human being whose heart beats cash and cash alone.

Value of Howell Industries skyrocketing after New York state attorney general's office abruptly dropped investigation into tax evasion, money-laundering charges following rambling, bumbling grand jury appearance by whistle-blower known only as "Gilligan." Despite legal clean slate, Howell remains firmly ensconced on remote Pacific Island with skeleton staff of trusted associates.
