I think the foreclosure process is just part of the cure. The disease being reckless lending and reckless borrowing. If foreclosures are allowed to proceed unimpeded the market will correct itself.

If the houses just sit vacant and get broke into the value of these homes will effect the whole area.
Short Sale is the answer it takes the stress off the Banks, Owners and the Government backing the Lenders.
The Government should make homeowners search out Short Sale investors as part of being able to walk away becasue this is the answer to the problem. They bring Cash to settle debt for the homeowner and it help lighten the load of the bank.

With tax credits we let lots of new buyers get into a home with little of their own money. From what I've seen, lots of them are future foreclosures

We knew it was going to get worse, and the worst may be in the future.
That's the price Americans are paying for being too lazy or ignorant to control their government. Good government is not a free ride, it's another responsibility to pay attention to the warnings, and there have been many.
The media has let us down by not letting us in on the warnings, and even today by not letting the American people know they have other health care choices.
There is only one issue that ignites most Americans to take back their country more than health care. We cannot let this disaster drag us down farther.
Fighting it, and winning, will also let legislators and the media know that we demand respect. There are ways to penalize those legislators and the media.

...and it's only going to get worse.
Do you realize that none of this had to happen?
It's all fueled by corruption and the fact that those at the top see the rest of us as subhuman, not worth saving.
Actually, if you're not fighting back, you don't deserve their respect.
They're fighting to give their families the best possible lifestyle, and if you are nothing but political dead weight, you deserve to be a victim. Problem is, the kids deserve better parents.
Fight back like an adult - see post #7 before its deleted.

Your comments are based on ignorance.
Those in power knew they could scam buyers with fraudulent contracts and never be prosecuted. They knew they could pass them off on unsuspecting investors, and never be held accountable.
How? Because people like you blame the victims. Because they knew the 'little people' always turn on each other because it's EASIER than standing up to corruption, like adults, and fighting to have the guilty prosecuted.
There was absolutely no compassion for the victims in your remarks. That includes those who had good mortgages but lost jobs due to the recession that resulted.
Maybe this next round of foreclosures will get you, THEN you'll change your tune. Some people just have to learn the hard way.

You were told over TWO MONTHS AGO (post 7) how you could help stop this. What did you DO? Did you just waste two months that you could have used to make a difference?
Did you just ignore it because you’d rather be a victim of government corruption your whole life than grow up and be an adult, demanding accountability and justice?
Are you too pathetic to give your kids a country that is so much worse than what you inherited?

2011 is supposed to be a very bad year, which it wouldn't be if you had all gotten off your dead rears and fought back.

Newly elected Republicans voted against a bill that would prosecute bankers who are taking homes illegally. They're using falsified signatures and numerous other illegal practices.
Worst of all, they're taking homes of veterans who are fighting in Iraq and Afghanistan. That's been illegal since WWI.

Doesn't this seem very suspicious? This is completely opposite of what banks have always done - trying to avoid foreclosures.

This wouldn't be happening if the American people would grow up and become responsible adults.
You can't just complain.
You have to demand the changes at:

You have no choice. If bankers get away with this, they will completely control us. That’s what they’re trying to do - end Democracy.

Those soldiers are risking their lives. Don’t even tell them you were too gutless to get off your dead rear and save their homes.

What's wrong with BUSINESS OWNERS and leaders who put up with this ongoing SCAM?
Banks are deliberatly driving people out of business by denying them commercial loans too.
So, where are all those victims in the Wall St. protests? Where are they hiding?
DENIAL only comforts cowards.
Whether you protest for revenge against the banks, or to save your business, PROTEST!
Stand up to treason!
Cops won't attack protesters if they're middle class -- no, they're cowards who just take on peaceful, poor protesters.
Why? Because they CAN, thanks to you.
