I'm thinking about posting my resume on this site because it looks like it's focused purely on the food and beverage industry, but can someone tell me if it's safe and worthwhile? The link I received was this one:

http://www.myfoodrecruiter.com

They *claim* it's the biggest food and beverage job board but this is the first time I'm hearing about it.

Any advice? I'm interested in one of the Food Science positions at General Mills.

They are a scam site that will drive you crazy with emails and phony job posts.
They make their money selling the email addresses of their "applicants" and charging fees to connect you to "employers."
Don't waste your time with this garbage....

They are part of www.fepsearchgroup.com
That means they have no real jobs and are going to drive you nuts if they get shold of your personal information! Do not apply for any jobs listed on indeed or simply hired that are connected to these companies. At most they are acting as an univited middleman to actual job post.

Not sure what experiencs Marky Mark and Nick had with MyFoodRecruiter.com but I've never had any problems with them. They're a job board like Monster so all the jobs posted are posted by the companies that are hiring, not My Food Recruiter. I've gotten a few interviews from companies posting on this site, too (i've got my profile set up, so I was contacted a few times for jobs that weren't actually posted). My advice to you, Taylor, is to set up a profile, apply to what interests you and see what happens.

MyFoodRecruiter.com is owned by FEP Search. FEP is a group of headhunters out of Canada. In my opinion it is highly unethical to be a 3rd party recruiter operating under the guise of a job board. I really doubt any of the companies listed on their site know are paying subscribers. All the jobs posted on their site can be found on other job boards so I’m guessing they troll around the internet trying to build up relevant content so they look respectable. I would not share any private information with this company if it were me.

Rick, so that means you feel Monster.com is highly unethical since they are owned by TMP Worldwide, right? That is the most absurd, irrational nonsense I have ever heard. Here's a tip: a job seeker doesn't really care who owns a job board. Job seekers care about finding a job.

MyFoodRecruiter.com is obviously well respected because food companies are posting their jobs there. It is a decent niche site.

My Food Recruiter has relentlessly spammed me no matter how many times I have requested them to stop. I never even signed up on their site. Anything you send to them ends up with an "Out of Office" form letter. In my opinion, they are a total online marketing spam group. It's funny also, the one people defending them on here are from Canada- exactly where myfoodrecruiter is from-probably them.

Urmm...I'm not from Canada, and I don't agree with you EJP. I just agreed to do a 'success' case study for them because I found a job that way, so yes, I'll admit they asked me to do them a favor and come post. But I was happy to do it - because the service helped me.

Why don't you follow their unsubscribe process? Do you want me to introduce you to the contact who reached out to me?

After two middle-of-the-night calls to my cell number, I sent this:

I am writing you back to tell you how much I DO NOT APPRECIATE my cell phone ringing in the middle of the night. Usually those types of calls are due to a family emergency, not an obnoxious message from a headhunter who obviously is incapable of doing her job using accepted, honest business practices, and must resort to tactics used only by the most vile of phone sales people.
Please do not contact me ever again. Any interest I might have had in ever doing business with you and your company has been destroyed by your low tactics.

Hopefully, I will never hear from them again.

These "food recruiter" guys have been spamming me non-stop for a year now, without fail, even after I specifically requested that they STOP.

Keep in mind that so called "brick & mortar" recruiting agencies are just as horrible—they'll waste your time by posting ads on their website for jobs that don't exist, collect a pile of resumes and then do JACK SH*T in terms of actual job placement.

I've officially given up on posting my resume anywhere online because of these annoying, useless trolls.

BE WARNED!

MyFoodRecruiter.com is owned by FEP Search. FEP is a group of headhunters out of Canada. They are a 3rd party recruiter, in another words they have NO JOBS!!!! I found out the hard way and different telemarketers (fake recruiters) called me at all hours-even at 1 A.M. They have nothing to offer anyone, mark my word.

I love the site, they are number 1 CPG, F&B career site. I applied to 3 positions and the response from the client who post the position is good.

They are definitely a scam. There is no way to contact them and they never answer replies. I have tested them many times. Do not even bother.

Great...I applied for a position on Careerbuilder and was linked to MyFoodRecruiter. I posted my resume on it yesterday, obviously before seeing this post. Now, I feel like I can't trust Careerbuilder, either.

Ok, why would a recruiter waste their time contacting you if they had no real jobs to offer? Recruiters are hired by Real Companies to find talent. Most of the Recruiters are paid fees only if they make placements.
