My heart goes out to this lady and her family.

I would like to add that a dangerous trend has been taking place in America for some time now. The public is being indoctrinated into believing that guns are bad. They are being alienated from the importance of the 2nd Amendment. If tellers were trained how to use guns, and there were at least one in arm's reach, this kind of thing would not happen so easily.

Criminals are cowards, and prey on those they believe are helpless. If there is a general understanding that businesses possess guns, and private citizens possess guns, crime would plummet. I would advise this woman and her husband, if they are willing, to adopt a healthy perspective on the 2nd Amendment. Having a gun in businesses and the home is not a bad idea.

Tough break, for sure. I'm sure it is instinctive to finger-point in these cases, and I'm sure this is what the couple is doing now. Should Huntington Bank provide security to protect her? Probably....I know that is a tough part of town, and they live very far south in a nicer part of Indy....Could she get a job at a safer bank? That Post Road area is a ghetto, and is known for being an extremely violent crime area.

Or perhaps she should have been aware of this before she took the job? My wife is pregnant, and I certainly would have asked her to take similar precautions.

Just thinking out loud

Keith... robberies can happen anywhere. Whether it's violent or not, you can't live your life in fear of what may happen. I work for a bank and I've been lucky enough to go almost 5 years and not been in a robbery. You just have to keep Katherin in your thoughts and know that she has suffered a tragic event. I wish the best for her and her family and for justice to be served.
