This is still so sad! It almost sickens me to know that this is just going to be let go.
Key points of this article:
1. The sister said her brother was coming before the bus was in motion.
2. The driver proceded forward anyway.
3. He immediately hits something that he thinks is a dog, after he has been told that the brother was coming.
It shouldn't have made a difference wether or not the boy was suspended off the bus, the driver should have been aware of his surroundings. This should have been obvious negligence at the least. I hope this man never is allowed to drive a bus again!
Prayers still go to the family. I can't imagine what you have been through and continue to go through. I have a son who will be twelve this month, and I can't imagine living my life without him beside me. Still so sorry for your loss.

I disagree with you on this. Accidents do happen sometimes no matter how tragic the situation may be.I certainly hope that you or me never have a tragic situation like this, but it is possible. I'm sure the THP done every test imaginable on the driver. I don't know the weather situation that morning, fog, clear, dark, or foggy. If he was drug free, and obviously he was, then I'm certain it was an accident. I'm sure he has suffered a lot through this also. Hope everyone heals from this sad, sad situation. I will add that the childs parents should hold some responsibility for allowing the child to try to enter the bus. Surely they knew he was suspended. I'm not holding anyone at fault though, I'm sure it was an accident.

Yes, I drive a car. What a stupid question. Karma will come to the one who committed the act, not to those that have an opinion about it. Idiot? No not me. Yes, I am aware that accidents do happen, but he didn't have a fender bender. He ran a child over when the sister told him that he was on his way. I think this goes beyond accident. When you drive a bus you have the lives of other peoples children in your hands. You should be completely aware of your surroundings, and safety should be priority one. I don't know what you we're trying to get at with your karma statement, wether it be wishing me to run over someone or something happen to one of my kids, but it was very infantile. It's a sad situation that I think could have been prevented. I'm lucky that my kids have wonderful, and careful bus drivers.

The boy who died was extremely short. Apparently, he was right up against the front of the bus and fell.

The article is also a bit off as she did say her brother was coming as she began to sit down, but the bus driver had already put the bus in drive, which is part of the reason she yelled that out.

Short??? He was a child they are all short! How do you know he fell in front of the bus? Did he run over him because he was extremly short or because he fell in front of the bus? I agree with Jenny, I feel terrible for the driver too but now if they run over our child, oh well! He has fricken mirrors to prevent this and he should have made sure before he moved the bus.

He didn't run the kid over on purpose. He has to live with the guilt for the rest of his life. Accidents do happen. So stop making the situation worse than it already is.

I don't think he did it on purpose, I don't think anyone else does either....it's the issue of being reckless and not being aware of what's going on around you. I agree that it was an accident, but it could have been prevented had the driver used better judgment.

Were you there to hear what was said ? Do you know this man ? I'm pretty sure he is living in his own hell and does not need people like you judging him. I don't think he got out of bed that morning thinking that his life or another families life would be damaged for eternity. Please try to have a little compassion and respect before you make judgements.

Would him feeling bad, make YOU feel better about him running over your baby not once but twice?

I think it goes a far beyond feeling bad. Several lives were destroyed that day. I for one would not want to be living this mans life. I'm sure he would give his own life in an instant to give this child back to his family. I'm just saying please don't pass judgment if you don't know this man.

I do have compassion, and I'm not passing judgments....I'm simply presenting the facts! This is how the story was presented by the Greeneville Sun! No I wasn't there, but it has been repeatedly told in every account that this is in FACT what the sister said. In which account, I do think it was negligence on his behalf. As I said before, I don't feel that he did it on purpose but I do feel that poor judgment cost the life of a child. Take it as you will, that's the facts! I don't care if you call me judgmental, but if I was this childs parent I would hope that he did live in his own personal he11. Also, I would advocate and make it my personal mission to see that he never drove a bus again.

So sad to wish such a thing on someone ! End of discussion for me. Can't tolerate people filled with so much hate for others.

I don't hate him. I hate what happened, I hate the action, and I really hate that someone lost their child. Sorry that you felt the need to leave. Good day to you.

They sure threw the book at the woman in Washngton County, TN. She didn't hurt those kids on purpose either. But careless is careless. He killed a child by being careless.

He shouldn't ever be allowed to drive a bus again. Nor should he ever want to again. It is not hate it is just what needs to be done due to the death of a child. The male bus driver also got to work and earn pay and accrue retirement, during the time the officials made the decision. The lady bus driver was on UN-paid leave and then put in jail for the accident. Does a child's death mean nothing?

Agreed. There's a lot with this case that just doesn't add up , but Whitson will have to answer to his maker one day for this.

They should have thrown him under the bus. His recklessness and carelessness killed that boy.

Daily Horoscope for May 22

Sagittarius

It's important to be discriminating about what you say and believe today. That's because communications are rather strange, with people saying or doing odd things and plenty of scope for crossed wires. Be very careful if you're attending to important details because for some reason your brain may switch off at the vital moment, leaving you prone to making mistakes or losing track of what you're doing. Try to double-check anything important tomorrow when your brain is back in gear.
