i tru to get my ac tuned up once a year. who knows if it even helps but its not that expansive and it can't hurt. with an ac costing more than 3 grand, spending 50 bucks or so once or twice a year seems to me to be worth it.

I like how our landlord turns off our breaker when we are not home because he thinks our AC (window shakers) should not be left on. If we turn it off while we are at work, our house does not cool off until 10:30 at night, and that is on a cool night. We even leave it on the "energy saver" setting and he still turns off our power and we can't get to the breaker box without HIS KEY.
if you stay in that apartment you are a dope. that is TOTALLY illegal for him to turn off your electric.

Kindly give me a break, SS. Does the staff here even reside in Florida, or do they phone everything in?

Online is great unless you have an Amana - no one services them & there's nothing online!:(

This article must have made your A/C service ad buyers happy. But you can find such maintenance tips with a simple Internet search. How about a investigative report ferreting out some of the many "repairmen" who charge for services they don't perform, like the phantom coil cleaning and the fake coolant recharge?
