So last week I get a deposit into my account, and I used it to "stimulate the economy" by paying down debt, and today I see the money was REVERSED in my account!!! Nice going! Because THEY (government) figure out the amount, and THEY deposit it into my account, THEY make a mistake and then took it back, THEY can pay the overdrafts!!!

And people want the government to run health care? Good luck with that.

I think we are all losing the whole point of the rebate checks, and why they were being issued in the first place. The government wanted a way to help the economy get back on track with their finances (you know the whole minimum wage thing). And there is the whole buyers market or realestate overflow. And of course lets all think of what most of us have made plans for since the rebate talk started. Most of us had the money spent before we even received any statement from the IRS, and lets be honest. It wasn't on bills, cars, or even a nice home (not saying all, but of course the biggest portion). They spent it on stuff that will either be tore up by neighborhood kids or go out of style in a week or two. Anyway I think that we should stop and think that even though the government has screwed up on a fast not thought out plan. We are loseing sight of what is really happening here. thats us screwing ourselves over all because we are materalistic. And I say that because when I first found out about it I did the same thing. Now I stop and think that I can move out of my place to a home that my two kids can truely grow up in. Thank you for your time, Summer

When you consider that the IRS didn't have a lot of time to prepare for this project, they should be commended on their performance. With all big projects you come across things that don't quite work the way you intended. Must be a problem that arose after that first run of rebate checks...

What will you do when you don't have Bush to blame anymore? Try a mirror... Once the government says everyone is getting it it is an entitlement, so in response to a dumb question the government says we are entitled to it. Bet you voted for Bush open your eyes.

Maybe they should have been saving their money all along or not spent the money before it arrived. You're a moron. P.S. I did vote for Bush and I don't even need the money. I'd bet the farm you're broke or on some form of assistance.

I havent received a rebate and am in no real big need of one as it will just sit in the bank, so your crystal ball was wrong, just as I would guess your last presidential vote was.

I didn't know selling Amway counted as owning your own company. You can try and deny it but I think I hit right near the mark. The only reason someone would want to vote for Obama and his high taxes is if you're someone who doesn't pay in very much in taxes - meaning you're lazy and worthless.

First off if a person sells amway, kirby vaccums, avon, or any other product, that they have success in doing so i would call them a succesful business person. If a person makes 200k a year selling them i would say this person is doing good in their own little niche. You seem to have a crystal ball, knowing someone after two paragraphs. I employ a dozen people, i pay a good deal of taxes, more then i should have too. I look at a bigger picture though I dont want too pay higher taxes, but i look at the job your guy has done with all the other problems in the U.S. and i base my opinion on that. Sure agreedy person will say i dont wanna pay higher taxes and let that be their deciding factor in their vote. Taxes are the least of our worries, unless one is in self absorbed greed. I think you are one who likes to just call people names and judge neither of which i have done to you. Seems you cant have a discussion without trying to belittle the next person and keep yourself on a pedestal. MY wife has a masters degree and I have a bachelors degree we are not dumb lazy people and we earn what we have. Worthless can you define what makes a person worthless?

I know farmers with no college degrees that are smarter than most people. If you need a degree to tell you you're intelligent than you may as well use your degree for t.p. I had you pegged as a snob. You should have your diploma wrapped in plastic and wear it on a string over your neck around town.
I don't mean to attack you, but why don't you think higher taxes is a big issue? It's the biggest issue! Name one program the federal gov't has run correctly? They screw everything up - so why in the world would anyone want to give them more money and responsibility???
I don't think the repubs have a done even close to a good job either, but at lease McCain isn't coming up with all these new programs requiring more of my money. I just want to live my life as I see fit and spend MY money as I see fit.
