That's ridiculous. Borrowing and spending is the way to prosperity.
yea for the private equity firm , who in the meantime has put huge debt into the company causing radial layoffs , the private equity firm is out for the short term gains, after they strip the company they just sell it , while they collect huge management fees.

I worked at Vertis HQ in Baltimore 2004-2007. Glad I left. Cannot believe all the cost cutting and wage reduction. Vertis was sinking years ago, will not be with us much longer. They treated people like garbage. Public reprimands were the norm. Look at the cost cutting from 2009:

vertis merged with american color graphics to get the work (contracts) of american color graphics. then in a matter of no time lost the jobs they got from the deal becouse they dont try to do good work. it is a sweat shop. they just want to print as fast as possible and then slam it out the door barely paying attention to quality.
its not the operators, its the management. they are just awfull. i would tell any operator there if you are able to leave do so as soon as possible. you wont regret it. i know i am much more happy now...

Funny how Vertis keeps bringing in these so called smart, educated businesspeople to turn the company around- Each one comes in and never lasts...just makes things worse. They oughta go back to the days when real men ran the company. When people who knew about printing ran the company. You can call Vertis a solutions provider, a marketing agency, whatever......the truth is Vertis is PRINTER and should be run by printers.
Print Revenue is what drives the company...nothing else yet nobody wants to call Vertis a printing company....what a fucking joke !

To many over payed people at the stevensville plant. To many abusing the jobs they hold, salaried employees. What does the future hold for the only vertis canadian plant, contract time, pay cuts, layoffs.
