I thought former chief justice sullivan was the first judge to start to unseal these types of cases. I am not expecting to read this in the biased media coverage by the courant. So if I am right will someone qualified reply please. I realize the courant won't give chief justice sullivan credit for anything so if someone know then please reply.

Biased media coverage? You hit the nail on the head. Now, when will other people start believing the Courant is biased? People believe anything negative that's printed.

I do. When government officials "take care" of each other, it's an abuse of authority.

All should care.

Listen Judge Sullivan, we know you're still pissed about getting caught trying to help your buddy become chief justice. But have the balls to post under your real name.

I love you guys. When you don't like reality, you start hurling the "bias" claim. Your boy Sullivan was corrupt and he got suspended for his shenanigans.

The only bias is your own blind bias for a corrupt judge.

Stop being nitwits.

Maybe more than just the sealed cases should be looked at.

Supreme Court Justice William J. Sullivan proved that he can and will pull a fast one. If he was the head of the Judiciary and it is run like an Organized Crime Syndicate, there have been grave injustices.

What about victims of judicial misconduct, I know many.

There are many sociopaths that are judges.

Judge Scheinblum would tell minority and poor whites to shut and take a deal with no lawyer present, guilty or not. He would use a violin in chambers to decide how harsh to punish a defendant. A bad note, a harsh sentence. Scheinblum has been overtly racist allegedly commenting on minorities from the bench.

Judge Jonathan Kaplan will expound on someone's racial background that use that to sentence someone or take away their kids. Kaplan will follow someone around the court house and block their exit with a car if the person has complained against him. Judge Jonathan Kaplan may have aligned himself with former Connecticut State Police Commissioner Arthur L. Spada to railroad citizens that proposed legislation to elected officials, police didn't like and that had got "mouthy" in newspapers about police or the courts.

I sent a registered letter regarding felonies being committed by judges and police in Connecticut to Judge William J. Sullivan.

I went up to Sullivan when he was in the hallway outside the Judicial hearings deciding his fate and asked him about whether or not the felonies that I had informed him of, made him guilty of felonies if he did not pass it on to proper investigative channels.

Who cares? Imagine someone who actually thinks that having two justice systems in America is not even newsworthy. That is not only disappointing, but terrifying in that it shows just how addled a mind can be.

makes me wonder if our illustrious judges haven't been getting paid off to seal these cases. Why is only certain attorney's knew about this practice. Is Blumenthal going to investigate. Doubtful. When has he ever and I mean ever investigated a crooked judge cop or politician. I'm beginning to think he is corrupt as well.

No. There was biased coverage toward justice sullivan. I don't think what he did was right but there is no question the courant hate's justice sullivan. He was the first according to all accounts to unseal the secret files. That does not make what he did ok. But the courant never ever prints a positive thing about the man. That is why this paper is a joke. Justice sullivan's got blasted because he is conservative. Bottom line and if you think I am the former chief justice then go get help. Blumenthal is not crooked. Who ever said that. I don't think the judicial branch is crooked. The former chief justice was an honest man. I also don't think the former chief justice would waste his time blogging with us. That is a joke I hope. This whole thing was about nothing and the media was biased from day 1. Erickson it is a wonder why you are not locked up. Your views are scary and I hope you don't think anyone listens to you. I feel bad for you. Get help. You make accusations based on nothing. Where is your proof. Give credit where credit is do.

Don't agree about Dick Blumenthal being corrupt.

He has however, been reluctant to investigate corruption of public officials.

He now has the Moody scandal(her latest) under investigation. Let's see what he does with that, before we judge him too harshly.

As to these sealed cases, they should be unsealed unless there is an over-riding privacy issue, i.e., welfare of children, threat of personal violence, etc.

Hey Bob, thbaks for your input. But I wonder what YOUR qualifications are? there are thousands of defendants who were abused in Corrupticut u/the reign of King John Rowland. I happen to be one of them, and I have 2,000 pages of transcripts and paperwork to prove. Am not new to this forum. Problem is: Nobody wants to read or look at this paperwork. It Becomes a paperwork game, where nothing gets properly addressed or remedied. It becomes a joke and a charade, because the courts are either ultimately powerless or cowardly,... or both. Much of this hanky-panky sh*t went on during Sully's watch. He and his court failed to grant me certiorari in AC #23941, for exammple. So there's no love lost between me and Sully, whatever else he may have done or not done. I don't care. I care about me and those who have been abused in Corrupticut, the Unconstitution State.

You apologists go hang yourselves as far as I'm concerned. I can prove New Haven Superior Court is corrupt. OK! Unlikely that this is the only court in Ct. so compromised. You don't like what Erickson, I and others say critically, well then don't read it. Skip over, is all I have to say.

I am in federal court today and the State of Corrupticut is one of my defendants. We'll see who has the last laugh. And if I lose, it was for a Good Cause, and I'm outta here. I can collect my social security anywhere in the world. I don't need to be here, and I don't want to live in a country where "Constitutional rights" are not worth the paper they're written on.

Harry, the problem with you "over-riding primary concers" are that "over-riding concerns" are whatever they want them to be, w/out real-world oversight or accountability. Just as the police officer's "probable cause" is nothing more nor less than what he wants to do anyway, a shibboleth, and excuse which gets rubber-stamped all up and down the incestuous chain of command, till you get to the vaunted Supreme Court, the all-knowing final arbiter of what is just and true in the sovereign state.

The fact that Justice Sullivan was censured by the Judicial Review Council is bizarre and rare because this council so rarely rules in favor of the complainant. Records are available from the council. I have legitimate complaints against 3 (or more) judges and 2 justices in Ct. Filing a single complaint involves a tremendous amount of work. You cannot just go blah, blah, blah. You have to document and justify your complaint in detail. It is time-consuming, tedious and expensive. Who is going to pay me to do this, when the odds are against you 87/1? The true #'s are available. So what's the use? When you get falsely arrested in Ct., you are suddently put on the hook for $10.000-$100,000 in legal fees,... up-front, cash. How many people can pull that off? Your other option is to go with overworked and underpaid "public" defenders who get their paycheck from--you guessed it--the State. Now what kind of defense do you think you are going to get? Guess again!

It's not right that individuals with wealth and power can have access to sealing cases where other individuals can't have the same right to privacy.
This has the appearance of being favortism/doing favors ext.

Hey, I make mistakes too: THANKS! For those who want to do a little digging: "Upstairs, Downstairs," by Carole Bass, New Haven Advocate, Dec. 6,'01; "Do as We Say, Not as we Drive," by Paul Bass, New Haven Advocate, Dec. 12,'02; "Training is Scarce for State Prosecutors," by Michael Kolber, N.Y. Times, April 21,'02; "Longtime Prosecutor Takes Over as the Chief," by Stacy Stowe, N.Y. Times, Jan 5,'03;... amonst many other stories NOT in the Court, which nibble around the edges of corruption and malfeasance in the Ct. State Judiciary.

Prediction: Bloomintall does NOTHING in regards to the Moody kerfuffle. Why should he? What's in it for him? In spite of Amann's and Caruso's harsh rhetoric, the Dems are in bed with the Republicrabs in Ct. There are NO independent thinkers in mainstream Ct. politics today. No one will take on or buck established interests. Everybody has his hand out for a freebie or a cut of the action. Bloomy is a wizard of OZ, presumably at the controls, hiding behind a v. big curtain of corruption and malfeasance which has thoroughly infected the once-proud Constitution State. He answers to the governor, whomever he or she may be. He knows which side his bread is buttered on. I'm not holding my breath. Don't forget Bloomy wants to be guv so bad, he can taste it. He's not going to jeopardize that option, No Way! Blooomy must go. Times up! The music has stopped. No chair left for you.
