Oh please, don't think I'm unfamiliar with the politics on the island. The ROC constitution has gone through many changes under LTH & A'bian, mostly for the sake of satistifing their own political agenda. It had far more changes than PRC's constitution.
btw i believe understanding is essential between taiwan and china. taiwan's now having open policies to mainlanders that they can come to taiwan to work and study. this is very fantastic! i wish more and more chinese will have first-hand experience in taiwan. some people in taiwan are against the policy of offering much scholorships to PRC students coz the economic sucks. but i absolutely support it.

If the Taiwanese are so open-minded in the past and accepted the aboringinal people into the mainstream, they won't be living in a less than affluent situation nowadays
what if i copy your logic and say 'if the westerners are so open-minded in the past and accepted the other races into mainstream, they won't have many racists.'
your point to against taiwan is non-sense. and the gap between rich and poor in you country is much more widened in taiwan.
and how do you know the situation of most aboringinal people in taiwan? how do you know whether they're actually happier than new immigrants and black people in your country or not?

lol ! it doesnt matter what you believe it or not ! it just matter , someday , when there is a war between the mainland of china and taiwan because someone try to make taiwan independent . then you will see that difference between you and me . i can give my whole life to support the unit of the mainland of china and taiwan . and you ? i guess you may immigrate to another country . you will never remember what's your blood in your body , but i do ! that's the difference . i am not a crazy man , i have a normal life . but if one day i have to give away my life for sth i believe since the first day i was born . i will never regret !

1, your view about India doesn't count, as you hardly see the complete truth with your slit eyes.

2. We are going to import some chinese slaves for toilet cleaning, as we hear they are excellent janitors.

3. Your english skills. Sour grapes huh? Chinese govt is laying special emphasis on improving english skills of chinese people. English teachers are much in demand, and get paid 3 times of other teachers. Get out of your inferiority complex.

You are ratting off old stories from back issues of newspapers from ONE YEAR AGO. This "Great Recession" is basically over in China, and China went through this without much anarchy, but came out much stronger than before.

As for those migrant workers who went home to western China, many of them found construction jobs in China's massive infrastructure programs (ie. high-speed railway building) in their home province. All a part of the economic stimulus package in China for this "Great Recession."

RayH, the Great Recession is an excuse of the government to explain why the country is having such out-of-control problem even though it has became 'much richer' than the past. unfortunately taiwan is somehow economically being 'americanized' too because of some wrong policies, the result is being unlike as equal prosperity as in the past, which has been noticed and fortunately many people are against it. blindly purchasing growth of GDP is dangerous.

1. just one question ! have u been to china or not ? whose eyes are slit ? i guess yours , coz you havent been to china yet ! most cities i have been to in indian are all big cities , such as Mumbai, New Delhi and Calcutta . all i saw is dirty street . you should go and visit some small city in china , although they are not very rich , they have clean streets .
2. how much will you pay for that ? i think the salary of the people in china who clean toliet , can be twice as the yours ! people in china can be poor or rich , but no one can take others as slaves , like in indian . i just remember my driver in indian , one good man , like most low race in dian . those people always take themselves as slaves . they never say "no" to their boss , every stuffs i give him , he can say " thank you sir " for many times . in china , my driver and i can be very good friends . while in indian , they just think that they are so humble that they cant be my friend .
3. i know that my english is not so well , but at least i can talk to these english speaking people including some in indian . some may come from the low race , even though they are not so good in english . i guess you may be from the high race , these people always be pround of their english and often look down upon the low race . JUST REMEMBER !! in china , you can be poor or rich , but there is no low race or high race . they judge us as the way you think coz you havnt been to china yet !

The only people, who should be deciding it Taiwan becomes part of China are the Taiwanese.
A recent Zogby poll shows a majority of 85% are adamantly opposed to the idea, and want independence and admission to the UN.
Ma Ying Jeou seems to be doing all he can to make it easier for Taiwan to fall forever into orbit around China by increasing economic ties. It may be a pragmatic solution to the problems of the global financial crisis , but he's playing a dangerous game. Ma could be handing over the keys to the kingdom - and Taiwanese sovereignty with it.
Even, so - there's no inevitability here. The real choice lays with the Taiwanese people, and the next election could change everything.
can you see clearly. taiwan desire unification with china. all the trade links, people movement are the first step towards unification. chinese in taiwan and mainland are one.

Daily Horoscope for January 2

Scorpio

Something about your personality or appearance is drawing a lot of attention today, Scorpio. People insist on watching when you'd rather that they minded their own business. Your stubborn streak at a time when flexibility would be easier. Be kind to those with long memories, especially if you think you might run into them again at some point in your life. If you can't think of anything nice to say, don't say anything at all.
