Jordan Belfort, co-founder of the biggest and most notorious stock "boiler room" in recent history, has proved once more that he is a skillful salesman.

I recall meeting both Belfort and Danny Porush in the late 90's through a friend who was employed by their "firm". Immediately recognizing them for the low life confidence men that they were, I pleaded with this friend to resign. I am sickened by the thought that either would prosper from a book or movie. Indviduals like this further erode the reputation of the real Wall Steet, and damage investor confidence overall. As a 14 year veteran equity trader, I am embarrassed by this type of behavior.

What a travesty. I cannot believe first off that Jordan Belfort spent just two years in prison for what he did to his unsuspecting victims. Lives were ruined by this slime and now he stands to benefit financially again. And not surprisingly, we have who else but Hollywood to thank for it. When does the public finally stand up and say "not this time."

Random House, Warner Brothers, Scorsese, DiCaprio and all others in bed with Jordan Belfort should be boycotted (movies, DVD's) by anyone with a sense of decency. They are attempting to glorify an unrepentant criminal who bilked innocent people of millions and now stands to gain off their despair for a second big score. Apparently, the lure of Hollywood glory and ill gained profits are too much for even a seemingly decent fellow like Martin Scorsese to resist. It's a very sad commentary on the World we live in today.

There should be a law preventing criminals like Jordan Belfort from profiting in any way from their crimes until their victims receive full restitution. If Warner Brothers wants to produce this picture, then let them first restore the estimated $250 million that Belfort's victims were bilked.

Is there no justice at all or is this just a blind justice? This snake oil salesman is "fined" over $100 million and yet has only paid in over $600k and now he is a quasi celeb author and who watches over the restitution?? Certainly it is not the victims attorneys as it was Mr. Belforts attorney who is doing all the talking.To quote the sentencing judge (and in this case I use the word'Judge' loosely) "Mr.Belfort's going to earn a lot of money" and that would be good if the victims of his fraud were direct beneficiarys of his pennance. This is an outrage!

The courts should do a better job of making sure his previous agreement of paying back 110 million dollars gets satisfied! For him to only have paid $663,000 so far is a slap in the face to all of the victims. If they can make sure that his proceeds & royalties of this new book / film get paid tho his victims, then I'm all for it. Other than that, he should rot in hell.

I met jordan and all the oakmount crew while I ran a basketball league that they played in. They pulled in to play a game at a local school in a Rolls.Tackey.Over the time the main guys who ran the show confied to me which I thought was odd,but I listened.He said his wife packs his bags knowing anytime he will do six months at a spa jail and pay the max fine of 250k.He bragged wouldn't you do this too since I make over 25million a year.
I left thinking he is a good BS artist but his list of clients made you believe in him. His thinking is he blames the government and I do to.The laws are so small for his crimes,that it really does pay to committ them.
We are all stupid in a sence to give a stranger all your money and expect rainbows. Thats his charm.However, after a year
of knowing him, he skipped out and did not pay his company's
team athletic bill. It only amounted to about 2k, for a guy that made millions. I took him to small claims court but he kept moving. I found his lawyer and was told to go to a settlement
hearing. The judge said my claim was not heard on time and
there was no money in the company anyway. It seemed odd
for a man with that much wealth to cheat me over 2k.
Then it hits me, he is just a common crook.
Hollywood wants to do a movie on this guy! Geez he must
have dirt on someone,otherwise how can a con artist get this to be produced?Shame on hollywood and the book companies
to make money on a thief.I thought those two industries make a works of art. Please never insult art, all they care about is MONEY. However wait, a black cloud follows him after the good times.See Stratton Oakmount,Enron,etc.

Let's face facts fellas. Almost every businessman out there is a crook, from the mechanic to the lawyer to the preacher. Stratton wasn't very different from most brokerage firms. They are all crooks. Stratton just took first prize and the limelite for their 15 minutes of fame which lasted YEARS and how did it last YEARS? Ask Al Damotto and other political types that stratton made plenty of cash for.

One more thing. Take a long hard look at your president GW Bush. He makes belford and porush look like alter boys. Watch out for the priest fellas..

During the last year the UK has been considering introducing legislation either preventing a criminal from profiting from accounts of their crime, or recovering any profits made. I'm not sure how much progress has been made, but surely this is the answer.

Till he was forced to testify he enjoyed a very lavish lifestyle, even after the goverment froze his assets. he braged about having money in caymans still. around one hundreed million dollars. the goverment did a very poor job on watching this man's lifestyle. he was living like a millionaire while under enditement and continues so now in California

The whole thing is still a lie - Lets start w/ their innocent childhood, Wigwam or aka Andy Greene - Jordan and AG and his brother Carry were crooks from the start. When they were 14 they started to come up with ways to abuse the legal system. Funny thing these guys from starton, ken. monroe. biltmore. the list goes on are still in the business of Wall Street - It is sad, it is wrong and I for one have lived through 20 years of watching criminals become multi-millionares while harming hundreds and thousands of people with no real penalty for the behavior. I am really shocked that Jordan and Dan could set up 30 plus to be behind bars now and these two are living the high life. OJ walks the street too - I think it shows in our society it doesn't matter how you got your money just as long as you do have the cash you are welcomed into the party no questions asked.

I am on page 200 of this book. This guy is a disturbed individual. The book is good but he is full of his puny self it is incredible. I am sure he lives a very sad life.
