Boy I bet this will bring thousands of folks from the burbs into Hartford this weekend. I bet the majority of locals (hip/hoppers, gang bangers, pan handlers, vagrants and all other forms of sub-human life)have never heard of the Titanic let alone relate to the historical significance.
Is anyone validating parking?

THE PRICE FOR THIS EXHIBIT IS RIDICULOUS. WITH THE ECONOMY THE WAY IT IS, MOST PEOPLE COULD NOT AFFORD TO SEE THIS EXHIBIT.
PERSONALLY, I DON'T THINK ANYTHING SHOULD HAVE BEEN BROUGHT UP FROM THAT SHIP. IT AS A GRAVE OF OVER 1,500 PEOPLE AND SHOULD BE LEFT ALONE.
PEOPLE SHOULD BOYCOTT THIS EXHIBIT.

The Titanic exhibit is currently here in Phoenix for the second time. I saw it the first time, and the price was well worth it: it was FANTASTIC. They recreated portions of the ship to tour through and had a very knowledgeable guide to enhance the experience. In the first exhibition, they also had a large piece of the actual Titanic hull which they allowed people to touch (they may not have it in this one, I’ve heard). The entire tour was a very reverent, thoughtful experience where people got a taste of true history and a far better understanding than from movies and their inaccuracies. In no way was there ever a feeling of or actions denoting anything but respect for the ship, the event and the people whose lives were lost or forever changed.
$22? Well, that’s about 10 6-packs of Coke, or a single decent dinner, or 5 packs of cigarettes, etc. If one can afford those, can’t one afford to forego them in favor of a singular experience that will live forever in memory instead of a day or two in the digestive track?

Maybe $22 (plus a surcharge making the cost actually $23) isn't a lot for one person to pay at a time, but for a family of four, that's more than a "decent dinner", 6-packs of coke and packs of cigarettes. In Arizona, the cost of living may be cheap in comparison with entertainment, but not in Connecticut!

I saw the Titanic exhibit in Las Vegas and it is well worth the price. Very educational and moving. Am actually thinking of seeing the Hartford exhibit.

Hartford's a great place to buy drugs, and there is a shooting gallery right in the Hilton/Sheraton/Hilton (can't remember which is which) in the 2d floor mens' bathroom

No wonder the economy is sinking, you can't even go see something of historical value for under $10 anymore.

$22 is too much? As of Dec 31,2006 the company's Titanic related activity: income $60.5 million but $60.2 million expenditures. Expenditures: artifact restoration, conservation, curation; maintain climate controlled lab; insurance premiums; salvage expeditions - 7 in total, takes one month just to get to the site, feasible only about 2 months per year, Titanic sits about 2 1/2 miles down, takes 8 hours in tiny sub to reach it, another 8 hours to get back. cont

cont.. only a few subs in the world can actually go down that far, one mishap at those depths is instant death, one person did unfortunately die during the 1996 expedition(fell overboard in rough seas), over 500,000 man hours in labor related to Titanic to date, 1991 exp. alone cost $7 mil, remember 7 total exp. to date. Revenue: ticket sales for exhibits, lease of films/picture of ship for documentaries. Price of movie ticket in Hartford:$10.50 You can see a movie, or pay another 10 bucks to see a once in a lifetime, live, piece of history. For those of you who have only seen it on film, believe me, THERE AIN'T NOTHING LIKE THE REAL THING, BABY. lol

Actually the price is VERY reasonable. To see these items is truly amazing. If they were to leave the wreck alone then the 1500 people who died would be forgotten. The artifacts will eventually disintegrate and be lost forever. So I disagree with you as these artifacts are great learning tools and a great remembrance to a terrible disaster.

I work downtown and have seen lots of people in town for this exhibit. It's the price of two movies, big deal. I guess some people are just really cheap.
