the only way Circuit City can rebuild itself is to provide the most excellent customer service and have knowledgeable folks. they laid off their senior salespeople and hired a number back at a much lower rate of pay. Boy that did wonders for employee morale didn't it? Someone I know wrote to the CEO of Circuit City who said give us another chance. I gave them a chance. When I went into Circuit City in my neck of the woods to look at computers, I was helped by a 20 something with an attitude who criticized its competitor. I wrote to the CEO and told him I wouldn't be back. He never replied. Circuit City lost my business no matter who owns them.

SO you just wrote the CEO? I wonder how it ever got to him, he does have a name you know. Try putting yourself in the position of the 20 some year old. You have an older lady asking the same question im sure some other older person has asked hundreds of times earlier, it would start to get to you. The only reason the higher paid associates who got fired where able to put up with it, is because they themselves where old. Well i hope you have fun finding that computer, either from someone who will lie to you (Best buy) or you can always get all the information you will need from a card (Wal mart, Costco)

I don't get the gist of what you are implying. Is it that being old is or isn't a handicap? That it's ok to have an attitude at the age 20 something?
You also are putting everybody in to the same category at Best Buy. Saying they lie to you.
Do you know for a fact that they are all liars at Best Buy? Do you know for a fact that all Circuit City employees are forthright and honest?
I'm sorry, but there is no excuse for rudeness or a bad attitude on the sales floor of any retail business.
Sure, I was one of those older people who got the ax in March '07. No one ever told me to handle customers with a bad attitude. Or tell me don't worry because they'll understand that you've been asked the same question way too many times.
Your reasoning just doesn't hold water, my friend.
No one is buying your into your thinking. You are truly a laugh riot!

Well, I'll be! People; I just found out that all Best Buy employees are liars and all Circuit City employees are forthright and honest. Dang! That is some revelation that "laugh riot" has devulged to us.
As for being rude on the sales floor, I had no idea this was an accepted way of handling customers. All of my 30 years in retail has taught me nothing I guess.
By the way, "laugh riot" you didn't address the "being old" factor. Is it or isn't it a good thing in retail sales? Please tell us more. So many of us are interested in your words of wisdom.

I surely agree with your father, but where's the good advise?
I'm only 63 yrs. old so I guess you wouldn't need my advise.
Bottom line is in June we will see some drastic changes with Circuit City. Whether they be good or bad for the company changes are about to occur.
That's my advise!
