You don't choose them. They make you hook up.

If you choose to live in their service area, you have chosen them. You could limit your water consumption by drinking and cooking with bottled water and sending your laundry out. Anyway you look at, 3 gallons for a penny is a deal.

Maybe it should be less than '3 cents a gallon' since their profits are so high at that rate. The average guy is struggling, and the Water company is making a big profit. Since they are basically a monopolistic utility, maybe the PUC can help. I am sure the wealthy shareholders like this, but those who have no choice in the matter don't like being soaked (get the pun?). If I were allowed to have a well, I would. Unfortunately, I am not. I hope the PUC looks at your profits and reduces your rates or makes you give a refund.

My water bill is about half the cell phone bill of the average guy who is strugling. C'mon, nobody struggles any more, unless they are honest.

You have to figure in all the main replacements they are doing so the water you drink remains healthy...all that does cost money. Not everything in life is going to benefit you.
