Most of the cops hired today are small minded minorities from an island somewhere and don`t know the American way. Have you seen these guys standing around in their uniforms with their shiny badges, take home vehicles, great benefits and pensions ? Give me a break.

You are all a bunch of senseless ignorant individuals who can barely complete a thought. All of you sit around considering all day how you can shove your head further into your ass. The people who were arrested were denied medical attention, clothing and were also held for nearly 14 hours after bail had been posted. This power plant is going to pollute your water, air and beautiful state that unfortunately some of you call home. Most of you probably are not even from here, and in that case get the "explitive" out of my home state and go back up north.

Let me "Enlighten" You! They were not "Denied" Clothing! They removed their own clothing to delay their identification. They were given prison clothes.
Any injuries sustained were from their willful resistance to arrest, and they were being treated like any other criminal.
I understand they WERE fed,(Jail Food) Sorry, there was no time to order Latte's from Starbucks.
As far as their time there. most were released immediataly after posting bond, the only delays were with those not of this area who tried to conceal their identies. Also, it takes time to process 100 unruly people screaming for their lawyers.
As far as your comments about having our heads up our ***, We require another power plant to power the homes of these entitled brats who were protesting. Since natural gas is cleaner, and safer than coal, or a
nuke plant, it is the best way to go!
Why don't you park your Beemer, or your Hummer for a while if you are so worried about pollution and stop worrying about these criminal's Many of which, according to the report, were not from this area. Let THEM go home!

If the tenor of your reply is any indication of the attitude displayed by these protestors who lovingly embrace civil disobediance, than there is nothing more to say.

I do not like nuclear power per se. But until you can provide a clean, efficient alternate for south florida then do not bother me. I've been here since 1950 and we have had "nuke power" already working for us without any problems for decades.
Our government should be working towards independance from fossel fuels. But until we get there this medium is better than being exposed to our continuing need for oil and the accompanying ills and troubles that is bringing us.

I was one of the 27 arrested and I personally saw one protester get slapped in the face by an officer, with no apparent provocation. All of us were restrained with very tight zip ties on our wrists (many of us lost feeling in our hands) and leg irons. For Bradshaw to deny that there was possible abuse displays either total ignorance or total apathy towards the treatment of prisoners.

Let's see........Does the word "prisoner" mean anything? If the prisoner were a shoplifter who resisted arrest, would you care how they were treated? Would you be disruptive at a protest again?
I am guessing not by the use of your lame alias!
Look, I support your right to protest 100%, but when you went over the line, blocked traffic, and resisted arrest, you had to expect this!
Did you think FPL was going to say "Oh, our bad! We will re-think our plans!"
You made THEM out as the injured parties!!! WAKE UP!

Bradshaw calling the protesters liars is like the pot calling the kettle black. This is an officer who as a Major was caught stealing guns from the west palm beach police department, and when in charge of the K-9 division kept a bite book full of pictures of undeserving people that were purposely bitten so Bradshaw could get his rocks off!!!! These K-9 officers would get stars for their cars much like the world war 2 pilots when they shot down an adversarys aircraft. Check the court records WPB police were sued and lost. So shut up bradshaw you have no room to say someone is lying! You still need to learn how to spell your own name (RIC)

I've worked in FPL power plants for years and lost my job to James Broadhead. People don't realize that all the waste water that comes from the plant and theres millions of gallons of it. FPL's only requirement is to assure that the water have a certain PH thats it. All the heavy metals and chemicals such as Caustic soda and sulfuric acid used to neutralize there poluted water is still there. Then I guess they will dump this into the surrounding freshwater canals. If you have any dought go to one of FPL's discharge canals and see that nothing grows there, not even beneficial plants!

It’s only viewed as police brutality because some person sitting in their living room watching this stuff on the news only sees the parts that the media wants them to see. Like someone getting tazered when just a couple of seconds before they were pointing a gun at the officers and instead of shooting the suspect like they had every right to at that point, they tazered him and tackled him...but that's probably what you would call brutality. I have no respect for someone as ignorant as you appear to be. You don't see any of the good that these people do day in and day out while risking their lives to protect and help the community. As in any job there are bound to be a few bad people that tarnish the reputation, but that is no reason to not respect any of the people that allow us to be safe. And, if you think they are doing such a bad job, then join the force and make changes yourself instead of just complaining about how bad things are. Have a good day.

I have NO respect for MOST police or law enforcement.

Gee I am so sorry you and your friends got their feelings hurt. Don't break the law and you can protest until hell freezes overs. And by the way Ric Bradshaw is far from ignorant or apathetic.

I just ran across this article and it's amazing that so many who spoke out about the right of free expression live in America. Why not go and live in North Korea? Commissioner Jennings was there to observe and to ensure that no false charges were filed against the Sheriff's Department. She wanted the right to protest to be free of anything tainting its intent. Commissioner Cara Jennings is one of our best.

I am an American and love the constitution that grants us the rights protest as in the civil rights protest or the anti-war protest. Maybe someday you can understand what an American is about and that we have to give these rights to all, not just the white, working class. Please try to understand that we have different American believes than you do and value our civil rights....read a book about American civil liberties and all the people who have died defending those rights in wars....don't be anti-American because you had traffic issues....
There is one problem. They want the police state to be administered. They do not believe in the
constitution or civil rights.

bye bye America and hello to the SS reborn.
