gee, all of the canal will take advantage of this. Why is this organization pushing socialism? Give free handouts and no one will do a thing. PG&E already offers lower bills for the needy.

I am going to march down there and get my PG&E bills paid. I make less than $2k a month but have over a million dollars in the bank. Thank you for a free handout.

I'm thinking the same thing. My taxes are taking care of the illegals all over town.
May as well try to get some of it back.
I have the time and income requirements so why not!

We should all be entitled to a $400.00 rebates/refunds since they inflated the prices to pay for this program. We all should reduce our taxes. Look at the amount of money the Judicial Council is wasting under the leadership of Ronald George, so call chief justice of the state Supreme Court. see abc local, "Whistleblower alleges extravagant court spending". This is just the tip of the iceberg of wasted taxpayers' money.

These are the same people that forced the building of low income housing projects in Corte Madera. The head was Dawn Weisz who now is head of Clean Energy Marin. Always the same kind of people behind this stuff. Why is that?

More accurate to change your name to "not so nice". It's interesting that you only focus on the dark side of humanity - greed and laziness. Ever give thought to the widow on fixed income who's heating bills were higher then normal these past few months?

The "widow" is exactly the type of person that should be getting these type of benefits.
The reality is Marin is over run with ILLEGAL aliens sucking the system dry.

You're half rignt, the government doesn't pay for it because it's funded by PG&E. However, guess where PTG&E gets it's revenues from.

So, a scorched-earth policy then? If there are some undeserved who slip through and take advantage of this benefit, then no one should get it, the "widow" be damned?

Also, one thing about illegals is their desire to work: Most are not here merely to slum off the system, they're here to make cash money. If no one was hiring them, they wouldn't keep coming over the border looking for work. Local contractors, farmers, etc are obviously hiring them. It's easy to blame the government or welfare or bleeding heart liberals, but it's really pure capitalism that brings them here - simple supply and demand. It's easy to demonize the hookers, but who's shaming the John's?

You should've said:

Actually, the government doesn't pay for this service; PG & E consumers do.

The cost for paying for the ones that don't pay are built into the cost of gas & electricity on your PG & E bill. Just remember:

THERE IS NO SUCH THING AS A FREE LUNCH!

Ok - Class dismissed!

I used to earn 200K a year (and paid high taxes)and became destitute due to illness. I am fairly healthy again but cannot find work.In the course of my illness, I lost everything. The government did NOTHING to help me through the illness. I lost my health insurance and and and and...too long for this page. I NEVER had difficulty finding work before this tragedy in my life. To those of you who are so judgmental about we "deadbeats",to quote one above...if it were not for this subsidy program, I would be not able to have electricity or cooking. Have some mercy people. To experience the devastation to ones life that ensues with tragedy and to find oneself so judged is dehumanizing and debilitating. It could happen to anyone.Wske up people...this program is one place of mercy in this harsh world. And, if anyone has work for a highly skilled and experienced Textile Designer and Stylist, let me know...my work generated multiple millions of revenues into the economy...but I am on the edge of homelessness now due to a prolonged illness. My health recovered...but not my finances.
