Oh, I don't like this - those Plants generate a lot of emissions and make a lot of noise. Is that area zoned for a Power Plant? I guess if the Treatment Plant is there - it isn't a far stretch to imagine the Power Plant there either.
How many hours would such a Plant be operating in any given day, what part of the year and during what hours? Generally Peak Plants operate during high demand for electricity which is from noon to 6 or 7 PM and more so during the summer months.
I hope that the Planning Commission and the Council engage on a fact finding mission before they decide to approve such a Plant being built there at that location and that the money such a Plant would generate in terms of revenue would be the last on a list of deciding factors. The residents of South Vacaville can be adversly affected by not only noise but emissions from a Plant at that location.

Not a good idea, but that doesn't matter. Nuclear is the answer. What emissions do nuclear power plants release into the air? I forgot.

You can't possibly be serious. Nuclear waste ring a bell there McFly? Just because the glowing barrels of ooze aren't in the air doesn't mean there is no waste.

Unless you'd prefer to switch off your kompooter, drink your beer warm and sit around scratching your butt in the dark while wondering what's on that TV you can't watch, you'll need to choose a poison.

Nukular is one option, coal's another, oil, gas...

Pick one. Deal with the consequences.

Right on. The people complaining are NIMBYs. Just like the congressman and senators who complain about the high price of gasoline and then refuse to let the oil companies drill in ANWAR or build another refinery.
