Mid-Morning Market Update: Markets Open Mixed, Tyson Posts Downbeat Profit
Following the market opening Monday, the Dow traded down 0.15 percent to 14,951.15 while the NASDAQ surged 0.17 percent to 3,384.29. The S&P also rose, gaining 0.02 percent to 1,614.77. Tyson's quarterly profit declined to $95 million, or $0.26 per share, versus $166 million, or $0.44 per share, in the year-ago period.
