"The project is the first of three electric vehicle pilot programs the utility plans to carry out under an agreement with the Maine Public Utilities Commission, and data on the energy used to power the vehicles and their efficiency will be reported back to the MPUC, according to spokeswoman Gail Rice."
Yeah, there have been some complaints from early adopters of the Nissan Leaf in hot climates. It seems several were bought in the Phoenix Az area and the owners found an average of a 33% decrease in range within about the first year of ownership. They are raising hell with Nissan about this early failure to perform. Nissan is "looking into" these complaints. Not nearly as hot in Maine, but the cold could also affect the longivity and range of electric vehicles also.
