Almost like that child's game Simon Says, "“This decision ensures that SCE is able to invest in smart energy systems, renewables and safety and reliability while its ratepayers are protected under the CPUC’s prudent review,” Simon said."
But what does this 5% increase mean, is it across the board? SCE has tiered rates 13, 16, 23, 28 and 32 cents per KWh. So will it now be 13.65, 16.8, 24.15, 29.4, and 33.6 cents per KWh?
In the name of ratepayer "protection", Simon Says no 16% rate increase, just a 5% rate increase.
During the summer months, many in the SCE sphere of influence run into the upper tiers of electricity usage just trying to keep their homes at a livable temperature when night time lows only dip into the low 90's overnight. NOW is the time to install solar PV to at least keep one's electricity usage out of the top tiers during the summer months. www.dsireusa.org
