I support our troops by sending them history books. That way they won't be surprised when the Government screws them out of their benefits as they always have.

Hey...let Hard head invest in it...then he can earn some "acid" dividends. And a "BIG" Moutza to you. None of you rocket scientists pay attention to what was said...so let me spell it out for you since I don't have crayons to print for you knuckleheads to read. I'm not AGAINST pipelines.....I just want these people to SPEND ENOUGH OF THEIR BIG DOLLARS to make these things AS SAFE AS POSSIBLE....that's all ! I'm not the one who documented ALL THE DAMN BREAKS over the years....but IT"S ALL THERE.....DO A LITTLE RESEARCH...READ IT....then chirp all you want.

Sounds like someone needs to do some research
instead of just spouting the "Blame big oil"
over and over.

I suggest you read the part about safety.

I did read the AOPL data. Sounds great ! It would seem that AOPL is the CARE version of pipeline support...ie.lobbying with much more money than a few folks sending letters to the editor of the Legend. I can understand the AOPL point. What I want YOU to do is to get on google or bing and type "pipeline breaks in the 21st century" as the search argument...and then YOU read what is documented and compare it to the AOPL claims.....fair enough ?? As I said....I am not against pipelines...and yes they provide jobs..GREAT ! They also create a ton of jobs for cleanup crews..also great ! Just the name of AOPL (Association Of Pipe Line) operators says it all. Why in the world would they acknowledge such a thing as the Enbridge break...or the Arkansas break..or any of the breaks documented in the data I suggest YOU read.....and thoroughly please. BIG OIL is BIG OIL....not little oil right ? They ALL have the MONEY to INSURE safety so that the list of breaks I suggested you read can be made much smaller. Obviously something is wrong if the list of breaks is that long.Accidents do occur. But when they do....the results are catastrophic. I read the impressive data from the AOPL....now YOU go read the data I suggested. If you feel that the data is OK with you....so be it. My guess is there is no way you feel there is a problem. It's just factual data....that's all. Maybe you can tell the AOPL to read the data as well...see what they say ! I'll bet they say...."no problem".....we are safe !

Using your logic we can say that Airlines and aircraft manufactures are not doing enough to make planes safe, Auto makers are not doing enough to make cars safe. And let's also go with Greek yogurt
manufactures are not doing enough to keep the environment safe from the by products of Greek Yogurt waste.( I read the story linked to )

More people are killed or injured by violent crime in Chicago than are injured by pipeline breaks.

More people are killed or injured in auto accidents than pipeline breaks, and in auto accidents oil, gasoline, diesel fuel and anti freeze can be leaked into the environment.

OK,
you can E-mail the mayor about the pipeline
Streit @ Lockport.org

or you can email Denise Marynowski
4th ward alderman
Denise.marynowski @ gmail.com
to propose a ban on Greek Yogurt in Lockport.

Actually, the CIA did,(OSS) They set up North Vietnam just like they did our latest manufactured enemy. Now you know where some of that 16 trillion went. I know, the good old USA would never sacrifice its citizens to benefit a few worldwide industrialists. They count on uneducated flag waving suckers like you that bite every time.

Said the overcompensating douche bag behind the safety the U.S. Constitution affords him. You know you could always pack up and leave the country like Bobby Fischer did. I promise you nobody will miss you. Of course that would take actual conviction on your part and we both know you’re too chickenshit to leave the country that is the best thing going.

It's not about the oil and using it or not. It's about the responsibility for maintenance and cleanup. These companies don't have a great history at either.

The examples you use have little to do with multi-national oil companies who have a history (check out the BP explosion in Azerbaijan that is a mirror to the Gulf explosion and it happened in 2008) of bad behaviour world-wide. When the incident happened in Asia, they followed the same unsuccessful steps that caused the Gulf disaster, including pumping cement into the well as a plug for the escaping gas. Operating with a responsibility to share holders and not the community is their practice, and they fight penalties and clean-up. Oversight is given to communities, so why invite a disaster to our community?

The oil companies are going to be drilling oil wells in Lockport?

I think your example has little to do with Lockport.

The real Disaster would be to not develop our local economy.

I'll say it again, if you feel oil companies do not care about communities, stop buying oil and oil products.

The ladies from C.A.R.E. should think about that when they have no place in Lockport to fill up their gas guzzling SUV's.
