I sent him $1,099.00 to place my website in top position on Google, Yahoo.com MSN and thirteen other search engines. He and his conspirators STOLE my money. I informed the Attorney General of California, and they do not handle that kind of problem.I will report them to The Better Bussiness Bureau and The Public Defender, and the Internet Fraud Bureau. Isn't there any way to get your money back from these crooks. I will do anything to get them.

I was just emailed, unsoliceted, by him too. Never heard of the guy, so I looked him up. I am finding tons of scam hits about him. Here's the email I got:
Hello,
I represent a company called Star Position -- a company that does
what's known as advanced search engine placement. We reach a
Network of over 32 million people who are predominantly US based.
Our Network is entirely opt-in, and the users on our Network allow us
to present them with a preferred choice whenever they are looking
for anything on the top sixteen search engines.(GOOGLE, YAHOO,
MSN and thirteen others.)
I seek one source to send the users on our Network, from the major
search engines, for different types of exotic birds. I would like to
speak with you on this.
Please contact me at your earliest convenience. I will be in the office
today and Friday from 8:00 AM to 6:00 PM Pacific time.

I just received an email from Robert Sexton right now. What prompted me to look him up (I'm a google grl) was the authenticity (he referred to today and Wednesday which IS tomorrow) yet vagueness of his email. AND the local reference he's i(949) in OC, I'm in The (2) area de of Long Beach ,CA
Like, if this spam, What Do You Want?
What can you do or me and for how much?
My A.D.D. kicked in.
Is he related to Martin Sexton who tours with Chris Trapper (formerly with TPS - The Push Stars) who has play at Fingerprints n town?
Is he writing about a job for me? I'm only postal part-time, so I could use the money. Maybe he thinks I'm good at getting the word out.
Obviously he found ThePrimeSpot.com without me writing to him.
I guess just being LOCAL and having the word out multimedia style (including print, social webs, the 5 minute machinima movie invite) that the exposure without his service is working!
Maybe he wants to know my secrets?
Then I though, this guy IS local (in the 949 area code, next to The 562 area code), so maybe I met him. MAYBE he came to the Second Saturday Artwalk or maybe he's a fan of Huell Howser who just filmed Soundwalk in the eVillage.
I KNOW he can't live in my building. I live in the hood. Down the street from the baby in the dumpster, just a block away from the church I where was tournamenting over Srabble. A few blocks om where the two cops were shot. Where that woud-be robber was attcked by his victim (my nehbors are touh!) and was tased before he checked out in the cop car.
MAYBE, just maybe my connection to Robert Sexton could land me in digs that even Cinderella would appreciate.
Ponderosa: Should I write to him and tell him to take me off his list, after asking HOW I got on it?
I spent early years in Freehold, next to Farmingdale. Should I send Robert an email regarding Daniel France's post (above)?
Or should I do nothing and just click "delete" like I do every morning? The fact that spam hasn't stopped after deemed illegal just shows how powerful the internet really is.
Okay, enough pondering about spam. Daniel, reply if you want me email Sexton a Remit Return Payment envelope.(I'd email you but you're prob getting 2x spam because you posted your email address to a message board).
Question: I just emailed the downtown Long Beach Biz org staf and convention center staff the coolest link they ever did see - a video invite to ThePrimeSpot.com Anniversary Party and Art Reception.
Is THAT spam?

This Star Position company has reached North Carolina (USA). I am a researcher and the first question, since the female mentions "cemetery" work, which is what I am conducting now at my own expense. Yea, it is expensive but, extremely worth the money, physical labor and the smile on the Elders of the cemeteries I am preserving.

Anyway, Thanks for the notes mentioned within this site. I will stay away from this young lady and her company.

oh yea, here is my link (see Lisa and KaRi's listings above) to show my work IS REAL. I may be poor but, I am getting the word out about my work. P.s. financial gifts are welcomed {insert a friendly smile at this point}.

Just confirming what you already know... Robert Sexton is a scammer. Don't fall for it. I just talked to him on the phone for about a half hour, and he gave me the run-down. Basically, people have to have the spyware installed to get your site to pop up in an iframe at the top of any search. You pay him a flat fee for one search term and everytime its performed your site will pop up. Its bullshit. He does a flat fee because he won't garuntee any amount of traffic. And he suggest really good keywords like "dating", for example. And you just go ahead and try getting your money back - it's not gonna happen. I didn't fall for it for one second and you shouldn't either. Robert Sexton, Kathleen Dangle, and the whole Star Positions company is a fraud. Don't fall for the scam.

We are getting 10 to 15 emails a day from him and Kathleen Dangle with completely incorrect subject lines. When you open them, they are advertising his company. I just got off the phone with him and he made it sound like he hired a company to do an email campaign for him and they were to blame.

I also received emails from this 'company', and I use the term loosely. Two things instantly made me wary, no link to his webpage was included, and an even bigger SPAM goof - he approached me about artwork - I'm an author, not an artist.

Good SEO companies get great results, and provide clients with documentation of work done and verifiable engine placement records. I've used the same one for years with very satisfactory results. Plus, if you have the time to do the work yourself, submitting to search engines is easy and free.

Having your site referenced by others is really the quickest and most effective way to reach the top of the big boys' lists: Yahoo, MSN, and Google. Once you're there, you're everywhere.

I'm really sorry to see that folks have been taken in and lost money with scams like this one.

I receive these from a MS. Kathleen Daigle
No idea who or why she is targeting me.
I just ignore them as I realized thanks to all you kind people what was really going on.
I suggest google and other search engine providers be contacted as it sounds like they are doing more than spamming. This could be potentially harmful to the search engine marketing sales.
I bought my pay per click and am very satisfied with my search engine ranking.

I received *eight* messages from "Kathleen Daigle" <kathleen.daigle@att.net > today, for Blink 182 CDs, Music CDs, CD copiers, and bank CDs. Apparently my site is the one true source for all of these.

From Ontario, Canada and owner of cottage rental www.muskokabirch.com
I was in the buesiness for many years and there are various conventional ways to increase rankings of a web site. It is also less expensive to advertise on "specialty sites" with a bonus if you can link your specific web site on the "specialty sites" (I have ads on about 4 cottage/vacation sites including Tourism Ontario and Tourism Canada with links to my cottage site).
I decided to explore the authenticity since it seemed non-definitive on its purpose and as mentioned earlier, no business web site link to discover and read company services nor a business address. I also went to my instinctive deciding criteria about questionable services: "If in doubt, don't!"

This has reached FlyingwithKids.com in New Zealand too --- Thanks folks for alerting us to the spam. If you want to get top placement in search engines, you don't need this guy --- you need well written, keyword rich, pertinent content. It's not rocket science!

This is so classic, old school sockpuppetry. I'm one of their clients and I renew every year, and I've been with them for two years - three soon. Granted, every company has unhappy clients. They've signed up, I think, close to 2900 clients over a five year period, and their BBB shows they've had 33 unhappy clients.

33 out of almost 2,900.

Shame on the original poster. I did my research on you and you're one of Star Position's competitors. Where IS this mythical lawsuit you claim to have done? They're still in business.

Why don't you quit burning people on pay per click and sell a real product?
