The Real Problem With Romney's Offshore Investments

Sep 26, 2012 | Posted by: Mr_Bill | Full story: www.motherjones.com

Forget the 47 percent. Foreign tax havens-and investment vehicles like those the GOP candidate established at Bain Capital-are robbing world treasuries of billions.

Mitt Romney's taxes are once again in the news thanks to Friday's release of his full 2011 tax return. As with his 2010 filings, the documents highlight the GOP candidate's extensive overseas holdings, which some tax experts believe has allowed him to lessen his tax liability. But the problem with Romney's reliance on offshore tax havens goes beyond his own tax bill.

BS HEADLINES BY OBOT KOOK, MR. BILL

The bizarro world of Democrats belong on TV comedy reruns of Seinfield.

Truth is the OPPOSITE.

This Morning’s Polls Project More Heavily Democratic Electorates Than 2008

By Jim Geraghty
September 26, 2012 8:20 A.M.

This morning, surveys from the New York Times/CBS/Quinnipiac puts Obama ahead by 10 in Ohio, up by 12 in Pennsylvania, and up by 9 in Florida.
Since the issue of whether the party ID within polling samples is realistic seems to be the issue of the week, let’s take a look at how these samples stack up to the 2008 exit polls. Liberals are oversampling again and basically rigging the polls……shock and awe.

Despite the 6.5% stock market rally over the last three months, a handful of billionaires are quietly dumping their American stocks ... and fast.

Warren Buffett, who has been a cheerleader for U.S. stocks for quite some time, is dumping shares at an alarming rate. He recently complained of “disappointing performance” in dyed-in-the-wool American companies like Johnson & Johnson, Procter & Gamble, and Kraft Foods.

In the latest filing for Buffett’s holding company Berkshire Hathaway, Buffett has been drastically reducing his exposure to stocks that depend on consumer purchasing habits. Berkshire sold roughly 19 million shares of Johnson & Johnson, and reduced his overall stake in “consumer product stocks” by 21%. Berkshire Hathaway also sold its entire stake in California-based computer parts supplier Intel.

With 70% of the U.S. economy dependent on consumer spending, Buffett’s apparent lack of faith in these companies’ future prospects is worrisome.

Unfortunately Buffett isn’t alone.

Fellow billionaire John Paulson, who made a fortune betting on the subprime mortgage meltdown, is clearing out of U.S. stocks too. During the second quarter of the year, Paulson’s hedge fund, Paulson & Co., dumped 14 million shares of JPMorgan Chase. The fund also dumped its entire position in discount retailer Family Dollar and consumer-goods maker Sara Lee.

Finally, billionaire George Soros recently sold nearly all of his bank stocks, including shares of JPMorgan Chase, Citigroup, and Goldman Sachs. Between the three banks, Soros sold more than a million shares.

Wow. Mr Bill posts another bad article on Romney. Yes Bill we get it. Romney is a piece crap.

And again Mr Bill refuses to posts an article that shows how bad Obama is.

Seeing this, I have to start asking the question.

Is Topix receiving monies from the DNC or are the moderators just that biased?

Didn't you see the article on Obama's UN speech?

The fact is, Romney is falling apart at so many seams, the Harley Davidson owners are laughing at him.

Yes, and I had to be the one to point out how the uprisings in the middle east had nothing to do with a freaking movie.

Why don't your post show how he has made unconstitutional laws against the American people?

How about show how bad they both are?

Instead of adding to the Presidential Reality Show.

Your veraion of unconstitutional does not jibe with the courts.

President Obama, you may notice, is not making much news, and almost no camaign news. Your constitutional issues are not newes, they are a bugaboo.

Yes, Obama is a Wall Street puppet; and Romney is an (inept) Wall St puppet-master.
But that's not news.

Really..........

So the NDAA that was signed into law by Obama on 31 Dec 2011 at 7PM that was struck down as being unconstitutional and a violation of the 5th amendment by a Federal Judge. Only to be lobbied by the Obama administration to where a different Federal Judge put a stay on the ruling allowing the US Military to pick up Americans based on a "suspicion" of terrorism is not news?

Oh wait, nvm, news to the media is who actually caught the catch on Monday Night Football.........

Or news is which Kardasian is married next

Or news is who is favored to win dancing with the stars.......
