Oh great. Maybe people will check it even more in the elevator, 2 seconds before/after they left their office. Or will it be longer when they are walking down the sidewalk? Because they are so importnat that if they miss a message in between the 3 seconds they checked last time, their day will be ruined. Hey RIM - why don't you hire a team of brain surgeons to implant a chip in these freaks' heads so they can permanently see their email inboxes a foot in front of them. But not while driving, because that would be dangerous. I mean who would be crazy enough to check their Blackberry in the car - while driving? That would just be silly. I'll be right back. I need to check my Blackberry. Ok, no new emails. Phew. My day goes on.

There is a photo of it on CNN's website. It looks pretty cool. It'll probably be hella expensive though, at least in the beginning.

This is why your newspaper is dying - you post an article on this and don't show a picture.

You saw a liberal agenda in a story about a new model of blackberry? Do you wear tinfoil on your head to keep the satellites from reading your thoughts, too?

A bit jealous are we? Many of us who have a Blackberry are responsible about it....how about the with a cell phone w/texting capability...or a cell phone period. Why focus on Blackberry...irresponsibility is not limited to checking e-mail.

I don't check my e-mail while driving, I don't check my e-mail in places where cell phones are not allowed. I do check my e-mail when I am travelling (in hotels etc.) so I can respond to inquiries on a timely basis.

Get a life buddy. Just because you don't have one you don't have to attack those of us that find it to be a very useful device.

It's a local newspaper, go to CNET, Popular Science, or someplace similar for detailed tech information...sheesh!

My company does not allow them for security purposes...I fail to see why. However, I am not complaining. I don't need one more place for people to bang and badger me when I want peace and quiet. Some folks crack me up, they think that they are so cool having folks pull their chain on a Blackberry. They have that look a tthe airport. Like, look at me, I'm important. No you are not, you are a slave! Slaves to the Cyber world! You have got to know when to go dark and how to control others who are always pulling your cord for something or another.

Read my brand in a post above above. Not necessary for most things. Doesn't have to be jealousy but it can be choice.

I read your post. A blackberry is a cell phone with a little extra...nothing more, nothing less. More people are on cell phones either talking or texting while driving, walking, shopping...you name it. Why? Because they want to look important? Cell phones are a heck of a lot worse (imho). I don't know about the jokers in airports looking "important" because they have a blackberry. How about the guys that are on their laptops at the airport..are they "looking important" also...or is it possible, just slightly possible, that they really have work to do? With severe staffing cutbacks a lot of us are doing two, sometimes three jobs and yes, we have to take it out of the office sometimes. I hate to be the one to burst the bubble, but that is a reality today.
