802.11n, as far as I know, still isn't a standard and buying equipment for it now, is still problematic as the equipment may not work once the final specification has been completed and approved.

You can hope that the various companies will upgrade the equipment you buy to work perfectly with other equipment, but there are absolutely no guarantees.

Yes, technically, n has not gotten final approval, but that should happen soon. That's why it's often called "draft n." It's already compatible with b and g devices and from what i've been told, there shouldn't be much difference when it is given final approval. It's more of a formality than a major change from draft to final form. The folks at the Wi-Fi Alliance say any N equipment you buy now should work with other N products once N gets final approval.

Connect to your router by ethernet. Open your browser and navigate to the administation page, the default page for Linksys IP address is 192.168.1.1 for Netgear and D-Link, 192.168.0.1 . Go to the security page and print out the page. If you haven't set up WEP yet, set that up and then print out the page. Set WPA instead if you can as it is a bit more secure than WEP . Don't run wireless in a insecure mode as someone could use your internet connection for illegal purposes as well as crack your system.

Or just get a Mac(s) with Airport, plug them into the wall, and plug your Internet connection into the Airport.

I probably would have really helped had he mentioned how to "Share" the printer with each laptop.
