7-Toed Kitten Born To 7-Toed Cat On

A cat with seven toes had a litter of kittens on 7/7/07, and one of the kittens also had seven toes.

I have a small Polydactyly (meaning 6 or 7 toed cat) female cat that had 6 kittens on Easter Sun and 3 of the 6 kittens have 7 toes. They are beautiful awesome looking kittens. I have raised cats for many years and although Magic is a rescue cat, I don't think I have ever had a cat as smart as this female is. I was wondering if other owners of Polydactylys have noticed a high intelligence rate in them. Also, the kittens are being very quick on picking up litter box training, etc.

The only thing that would be more incredible to me would be all 7 kittens having 7 toes, as well..

(Response who= Lynne) I have a feral cat that is Polydactyly and she gave birth to 7 kittens on Saint Patrick's Day 2008. Two of the seven kittens were also born Polydactyly and another was born Tridactylus. I find the mother cat to be very intelligent and a excellent first time mother. The kittens also litter trained very early approximately approximately 4 weeks.

I have two Kittens that remain out of the litter for adoption. One is grey and white and has Polydactyly and the other is orange and white and has Tridactylus. I have a kitten who has extra toes on each front paw. I was told the whole litter was like that.It looks like he has thumbs. But one of his nails wont retract. The vet said its common & its called Polydactyly. A friend of mine said Ernest Hemmingway had a cat like that.
