i'm a 24 year employee looking for a way out. sad that i feel sick every day walking into the door at albertsons. i met joe in 82 and he would surely be rolling in his grave right now. my 30 year pin seems a lifetime away. group huddles, extreme valu buys, not enough labor, and a manager that doesn't know how to check. we got one measly quarter an hour raise in 7 freakin years. i bust my ass every day and larry johnson should make love to his money every night the prick.

So down here in AZ, Albertsons has gotten rid of their Preferred Savings Card, while everyone else still has theirs. On a recent trip, I could not find ANYTHING that was priced lower, or even the same, as the competition. Albertsons charges $2.49 for a head of lettuce that Frys sells for $0.89 (regular price). Do they think people have no brains and don't shop around for the best prices? You can't sell the same exact products for 3 times as much and stay competitive, at least not for long. I don't understand the logic...

This is according to a poster in July. There's a bigger reason he spends half the year in France, folks. It's not just those beautiful beaches in St. Tropez. There are A LOT people looking for him, lol. He's obviously enjoying spending all that dirty money. I have faith in that what goes around will eventually come around.

Interesting article on Cerberus:
http://www.portfolio.com/executives/features/... #

Some highlights:
"150 C.E.O.’s and other top executives to form an active brain trust—paying them, according to a competitor, around $500,000 a year—to field calls from Cerberus employees, find and weigh in on deals, and open up their Rolodexes. But the big payday for these executives comes if Feinberg places them inside a company and they are given a large equity stake, often for the first time in their career. Other private equity firms have tried something similar, but not on this scale. In the past year and a half alone, Feinberg has brought on more than 60 new executives, from the former C.E.O. of the massive British insurance company Prudential to the former chief financial officer at Bank of America.“None of these top guys are working for their salary,” says Tim Price, a managing director at Cerberus.“They’re working because they’re driven to make a difference. They’re highly skilled, and they want the intellectual stimulation. They feel like they’re fighting on the side of the angels.”'

Uh huh. Was Larry Johnston one of your 150 CEOs?

Another:

"former vice president Dan Quayle and former Treasury secretary John Snow, stalwart Republicans whom he tapped to be Cerberus’ co-chairmen."

The former Treasury secretary is a co-chairman of Cerberus, which means our calls to the Treasury about possible tax fraud, were more than likely ignored.

And KPMG (who are currently being investigated for tax fraud for assisting the super rich in investing in off shore tax shelters ), are also the auditors for CVS and SuperValu...

By now Larry Johnston is probably a citizen of France, and it will be damn near impossible to extridite him.

Again, the powerful and corrupt get away with taking us all for a ride.

I worked for acme markets, I left the company.
Larry Johnston knew nothing about the supermarket business.... Ed Foreman was his side kick. They wanted everyone brainwashed. I'm Terrific, weekly broadcast blowing smoke up everyones _ss.If you didn't drink the koolaid they looked for and made every effort to push you out. Sad what they did to once a great company ACME.

The really disturbing issue is that all this info is out there for anyone to review(although it took me approximately a year to figure it out). And that NOTHING was done about it. The only ones who didn't benefit from this dirty deal were the regular investors and employees. It's all about bribes, payoffs and kickbacks people, and if you think otherwise, just take a look at the market today. The DOJ and SEC's excuse is that they don't have enough people and resources to investigate all the corruption. It's all a ruse, folks. A load of BS. This is happening more than anyone realizes.

I ran across this on July 2012...years after...all this was written.. wonder if anyone reads it any longer? Yes I was a American stores employee..and was a part the transition team to ABS. LJ was in my office a few days after coming on board. LJ was just the last nail in the coffin from the ABS take over. What arrogrant, grossly out of touch and incompetent people. AD LJ to the equation and it was only a matter of time. LJ made it clear to me that out sourcing much of IT to India would be a huge step forward....Hey What!! Luckily an opportunity for me to leave came around quickly...but also leaving a job I loved and fantastic people in Malvern PA. Am so sorry for all those that got the final shaft via LJ.Best of luck to Craig Herkert as he tries to clean up years of the mess left to him from his predssors out side of SuprValu>
