Condolences to his family.

What's really sick is that some people out there will be happy about this.

where are all the REAL christians out there? this is a boy who was sitting in school. our children should be protected from bullying and hatred. what are the parents of the shooter telling their son or not telling him that would prompt him to shoot a human being for being different? what is so scary about being gay to these people? are they afraid it will rib off? this is no different than lynching in the south. i am sickened by this. there should be free schools for gay students. they have a right to a free education in a safe environment jusst like any student. just because he is gay doesn't make it open season. for christ sakes!!! the pseudo-christians are probably sitting back smugly saying this boy got his comeuppance for gay. it's his punishment from big, bad god. I can't stand those a-holes but i don't go knocking them off like targets in shooting practice. i am so sorry this happened to him, he didn't have a chance to grow up. for his family and loved one, i hope you can console yourself somehow but it will be very challenging with the senselessness of this hateful act.

Just where in the hell was the admistration in this school to allow this to fester? Here is what is in the newspapers: King sometimes came to school wearing makeup and high heels, eighth-grader Nicholas Cortez, 14, told The Associated Press. Another eighth-grader, Michael Sweeney, said King's appearance was 'freaking the guys out,' the Los Angeles Times reported Thursday.'He would come to school in high-heeled boots, makeup, jewelry and painted nails — the whole thing,' Sweeney told the Times."

You are an idiot and are accusing everyone and you don't know a damn thing about it. Of course it was tragic and horrible. The real tragedy is the administration of the school who undoubtedly was afraid to deny someone their perceived constitutional right rather than allowing the situation to fester: Read the articles so far:

What planet have you been on? Lots of kids are murdered in schools. Gay is not a prerequisite for murder! Many more heterosexuals are murdered in schools. I guess their lives were less important!

Please show me one case in which a heterosexual student was murdered in school simply for being heterosexual.

So because the kid dressed differently he deserved being killed? It's the victim's fault for being killed? How about addressing the problem of why the MURDERER felt it his duty to kill someone different.

What was allowed to fester was anti-gay bigotry and hate until it escalated into murder. Simply because this boy came to school dressed differently from his peers does not for one second mean that he was somehow culpable for his own murder and I find it offensive that you would even make such a claim. I realize from your many postings on this site that although you refer to yourself as gay you have a very real loathing for us, but this is a new and pathetic low even for you.

Not less important by any stretch of the imagination; any time any child is killed in school, which should be a safe haven from any senseless violence, it is a sad and tragic event that should never occur. The response you are seeing here is a very visceral reaction to to a subject that each and every gay and lesbian person on here knows all too well. There are people in this world that take irrational hatred of gay people to an irrational end. We've either experienced it ourselves or know someone who has. The senseless murder of this boy hits home like a death in the family because we know that while this is the boy who died, in a very real sense that was a shot taken at each and every one of us.

What you're doing is not blaming the administration, you're blaming the victim for the way he dressed. What an ass you truly are.

The motives you refer to are a moot point. Any act of premeditated murder is a hate crime, to treat it in a way, because of this or that, makes it more, or less, legitimate is absurd, and demeaning to the victims, and society.

I am a high school teacher and I have a male gay student that dresses feminine and wears make up. I treat all students equally whether they're gay, straight, yellow, black, white, etc..and they are all equal in my eyes. I worry about how some idiot would hurt this young man. He is very sweet and I admire his bravery in being who he is even when there are still some others out there that could hurt him. I just wish people would leave people alone and let everyone express their own feelings. No one has to make someone be who they are not. I am gay but my students do not know that. If they do I dont know about it. I dont announce it nor hide it. It just has never come up.

Perhaps you should announce it to your gay student and let him know he's not alone. It would have helped me out at his age.

No, a teacher making such an announcement is inappropriate, I think. If a student asked, and he answered honestly, that's different and acceptable. But to just introduce the issue without a valid reason would only serve to cause an issue where none existed previously.

I agree that if the student knew he had support it might lessen the burden but that isn't the way to do it.

I hope he repented of his sins and made peace with his Creator before he died.

And I hope that whoever did this will get their just punishment for this heinous crime.

I'm sure he's committed sins against God, just as we all have.
We all will be judged for our sins.
Again, I hope he repented of his sins and made peace with his Creator.

you're trying to rationalize a murder and put the blame on the wrong people.
it shouldn't matter how a person dresses or if they "freak you out"... that is simply no reason to bring a gun to school and shoot a person... not once but twice.

have a nice day,

no one saying that it is... but this particular shooting was motivated based on the sexuality of the individual student and how it "offended" the shooter to the point that he decided to shoot the gay student.

yes heterosexual kids are shot and killed in schools but those shootings aren't motivated by "hetero-phobia" while this case was motivated by a student simply being offended by the sexuality of another student.

have a nice day,
t.
