Ethanol benefits questioned as hunger, food costs rise
Just months ago, ethanol was the Holy Grail to energy independence and a "green fuel" that would help nudge the country away from climate-changing fossil energy.

First of all no one ever said ethanol was the Holy Grail, only hiped up media would say that. Ethanol is only one of many ways America needs to pursue in order to become more energy Independent. Just like solar and wind is not 'THE" answer, it is part of the answer. Solar and Wind should be part of every home in America, producing energy right on location, where the energy is needed. But we are a hell of a long way for that to ever to take place. Why? Because Americans do not believe in it and they do not believe they are responsible for the energy they use. It is 'someone else's' responsibility, and that is where the problem remains. America will never become Independent because they are too selfish to care.

You're so right Bruce.
American's are evil, oil addicts who will do anything to maintain their lifestyle. Have you given up your car yet? Donated all your worldly goods and given the money to the less fortunate? Do you pay more than your fair share of taxes and then contribute the remainder to the government so they can distribute it fairly? Do you heat your house in the winter or do you prefer, like I do, to keep it at a nice cool 50 degrees? Do you cook on a stove top or in the wood burning fireplace?(Watch it, that's a trick question. I'll give you a hint: Both are wrong). Do you bike or walk to work? Better yet, do you work? It's tough to break the addiction, I know Bruce, but you sure have the right idea: let's put money into alternative energy-lots of money-and waste it so that for the next 10 years we can say "hey at least we tried". Never mind that there will be nothing to replace oil--and I mean nothing. And to think, if idiots like you suffer enough and pay high enough gas prices, maybe just maybe your addled little brain will be able to grasp the concept that we are and have been sitting on the solution to our energy needs FOREVER!. Another hint for you Bruce: WE HAVE THE SOLUTION RIGHT UNDER OUR FEET. ALL WE HAVE TO DO IS DIG A LITTLE DEEPER FOR IT. I'm confident that you'll find the answer soon Bruce. Oh and Bruce, AlBore and the super libs are the ones responsible for the Ethanol hype-remember the Global Warming Hype that's still going on? Do you ever connect the dots Bruce? :) citi |

Hi Citigirl, long time. I hope all is well with you. I've been wrapped up pretty tight this last week or so, but I wanted to shout out and say "Hey!" and thank you for your support.
Looks like you have a nasty little hobbit by the name of rastus festering you today, it's OK though, he/she/it does not have the stamina for you. Take care, Doll.. dr |
Hello Stormy #1. What a great post on the Vietnam Memorial thread. I hope I didn't offend you with my words (I do intend to offend RT and Company but NEVER you.) Rastus has taken to using part of my name in the hopes he will become important, but as you can see by his posts.... Never fear...as long as you have my back..I'm good to go! Take care, :) citi |

Let me try this again.
Me jumping up and down waving my arm..can I answer? Gonna anyway. Have you given up your car yet? Donated all your worldly goods and given the money to the less fortunate? Yes.. to my kids. Do you pay more than your fair share of taxes and then contribute the remainder to the government so they can distribute it fairly? My husband thinks so. Do you heat your house in the winter or do you prefer, like I do, to keep it at a nice cool 50 degrees? Nope.. we heat with wood and house is toasty 72 degrees. Do you cook on a stove top or in the wood burning fireplace?(Watch it, that's a trick question. I'll give you a hint: Both are wrong). Think I'm busted on this one. Do you bike or walk to work? Better yet, do you work? Nope don't work and don't own a bike. Can't afford it. <wink wink> |

Well done and honest. I respect that. The wood burning stove and the oven are a trick question and you answered it correctly. Good for you! Thank you for your responses. :) citi :) citi |

Very telling that the same libs that demanded federal legislation requiring the use of ethenol, which is still the law of the land by the way, are now the ones yelling because the industry is actually following through on the mandate. What you hear from the anti energy crowd is that they never thought the industry would actually follow the law. Since they did, and the congress doesn't want to live with the fallout, they now want to blame others for effects of their law. So typical.
