Does anyone know if it is legal to offer someone a place for free on a seminar provided they are happy for their details to be passed to sponsors/organisers - failing that they can attend but have to pay.
I have received an email offering me a free place on a seminar, but only free if I allow my contact details to be passed to the sponsors/organisers. If I do not wish my details to be passed on, the place is not free and I have to pay £85.
Is this even legal? Can a company do this?
