US Web in Huntington is going out of business and I wish all the employees the best of luck. Management can thank its workers for the millions they have made off our hard labor. I wish them no luck with their money.

The owner has been to US Web several times but it seems there are major problems. It looks like US Web will go bankrupt. Oct 24 is a day to watch.

I could be wrong, but I think that is the date that the case goes before the court- and ultimately the judge has the final decision on the bankruptcy restructuring plan.....like I said I could be wrong.

What happened to the promised jobs and will US Web Inc. give back the taxpayers money.Something is just not right here...
In response to increased global competition for manufacturing jobs, Empire State Development (the state economic development agency for New York) recently unveiled the Manufacturing Assistance Program (MAP). This new initiative provides grants of up to $1 million to eligible manufacturers. Eligible manufacturers are ones that employ between 50 to 1,000 workers, and export at least 30% of their production beyond the immediate region, or supply at least 30% of their production to a prime manufacturer that exports beyond the region. Eligible projects must include investments of at least $1 million in machinery and equipment, building and infrastructure improvements, changes in manufacturing process or layout, or worker training, with the end result being an improvement to productivity and production. As for employment requirements, MAP stipulates that applicants commit to retain 85% of their current workforce for a five-year project period to maintain funding.

Recent recipients of MAP funding include two companies in Long Island, NY: U.S. Web Inc. and Disc Graphics plan investments that will support a total of 555 jobs in Long Island. Direct mail printer U.S. Web Inc. will invest $5 million in new presses and related direct mail equipment, and expects to retain 270 jobs and create 25 new jobs at its Huntington facility. Disc Graphics Inc., a specialty printer of packaging and folding cartons, plans to invest $2.6 million in a project that will add a new eight-color printing press and retain 260 jobs at the company’s Hauppauge facility. U.S. Web Inc. is eligible to apply to Empire State Development for a $400,000 MAP grant. Disc Graphics, Inc. is eligible to apply for a $275,000 MAP grant.
