I depend on my two cells phones. One is my personal one and the other is my work phone.I can imagine what a pain it would become to constantly get spam over both phones. I hope the compnays can work to make sure this does not happen.

The problem is the companies dont care. It is incredibly easy to send mass spam texts to cell phones by simply sending an email to "phonenumber@provideradre ss.com".

The problem is the cell phone providers dont care. Why worry about spam when you can charge your customers for it.

I signed my cell phone number up at the donotcall.com registry. I was under the impression that would stop any telemarketing calls. Of course, I could be wrong...

Yes, you're right, it's donotcall.gov . All we can do know is wait and see.

I've had my cell number registered under the donotcall.gov for about 5 years now and I have never received spam.

Just like your computer, you can block certain numbers on your cell phone. It may take a while but sure worth it.

You can all just throw them phones away.

Try life without them, you will see that you really don't need them

If you stop and think about it,how many times did you really need to make or receive that call?

If it is less then ten times say in six months, you may not need it at all.

Try this do you daily routine but without a cell phone. You will find it's not that bad.

Land line phones still work, just leave a number where you can be reached.

Those pigs!!! On the Donotcall.gov website, there is a link on the left side where you can file a complaint directly to the FTC.

Chris, have you tried to speak to a supervisor there, and if so, threaten them. Say you're canceling your service and are filing a complaint with the Better Business Bureau if they continue to call your cell phone. That worked for my mom and they never harassed her again!
