We also need to realize that for many many years and still today the silver filings put in our mouths have lead in them also!!!!!!! I have silver filings left in my mouth from when I was 8yrs old, I am now fifty-two I worry about it alot but most dental plans don't pay for the higher grade filings only the silver. Also the silver filings eventually lead to your teeth cracking and breaking because the silver contracts and expands w/ hot and cold beverages and food. I have good teeth but now some of my molars are breaking and to replace them with crowns is too expensive for me. Silver filings should also be out lawed and insurance companies should cover the better types of filings !!!!!

I believe it was MERCURY that were in old Silver fillings that most people should be concerned about.

Hooray for Stan Jordan! He's on the right track. If something is going to be placed in our bodies, we certainly should be told what the content of the object is and be able to accept or reject it. Personally, I feel that it should be examined before it gets to the dentist and rejected if it has lead in it.

You are exactly right, the silver fillings should be outlawed..and my experience with them confirms your statement that they break what you have left of your tooth/teeth.

How long has this been happening? Does anyone know? I had a bridge last year put in; but, my dentist used gold for the crown. Should I be suspicious? LH

I really believe we need to cut China off the list of receiving imports for everything made in China. Evidently, the Chinese and the American companies that send their work to China because of cheap labor, don't care about the health of the American people. It seems to me that a domino effect starts when our American companies choose to use cheap labor (you get what you pay for)...thus cutting out jobs for our American people, thus creating more crime because people don't have the money to buy groceries, gas, health insurance, etc. China has already been caught putting lead paint on the toys bought for children in our country...are they trying to kill off our next generation? I will not buy anything made in China or any other country that I don't trust. My family is too important to me to put their lives and mine in danger. I will not shop at Wal Mart anymore because most of their products do come from China. I am having to shop more carefully in order to have enough money to purchase what I NEED and not what I WANT. I would like to see our Congress people stand up to the American businesses for once and tell them where to get off. The American companies don't seem to realize that after we've all been killed off, they won't have anyone to buy their products.

Patients are already asking if there's any way we can find out if their dental work contains lead. One patient was furious and she doesn't even have crown and bridge. Does anybody have any response for the patient who may ask as this unfolds?
