In January, i took my 2yr old for her 2nd visit. The overall experience was good. The doctor was concerned about a cavity she saw while brushing my little girls teeth and some staining on her front two top teeth (sippy cup & tea). She made a referral to another dentistry 60/+ miles away and proceeded to inform me that medicaid would provide transportation, i declined the help appreciatively. The referring dentist only offered visits between 8-10am and mon-thurs. In return i have tried to locate a dentist whom will see a child her age.
Today, we went for 6mos checkup today, dental assistant got rude when i mentioned that i haven't found the cavity from last visit and maybe it was food or something on her teeth bit was mistaken because my child was not being agreeable during inspection. Got into the area where all the seats are, the doctor checked teeth with toothbrush and began to inform me that her cavities where in different spot...this seemed odd since she didnt say anything about previous diagnosis. We spoke about her brushing getting better and off the sippy cup and the staining looking better, but she couldn't remember. I am concerned that the cavity has moved since last time and now there is a need for caps or fillings, especially since i have never heard of cavities getting/looking better when originally supposed to be staining. Also, her recommendation changed when i suggested finding a local doctor with or without using medicaid so it would be more convenient on myself to get my child treated. Todays visit was an overall upset due to misdiagnosing and attitudes of employees. I was informed of this upset with kool smiles and i hope the one here is not pulling the same tricks but seems as if they may be!
