I live South of Chicago, Il, and have been trying to reach the All Care branch in Bradley, Il where my husband and I have been getting our dental needs taken care of. When I call the Bradley office, and the NY office about a billing issue, it does not allow the call to go through. The only day I got the an answer was last Thursday, and that was a message stating they were closed for the holidays. So I figured I'd try again starting Monday, and I still have had no luck getting through. So I am assuming after reading your article, that the Bradley Il office is closed now to. I am not going to drive an hour just to get there and find out that they have closed the same as the other offices. We have had issues with them from the start in regards to work that was scheduled not getting done, fit issues, and ect., and now are getting separate bills sent from them when all of our work was financed from the start through a separate company. I called them in regards to this last month, and they said to disregard the bills sent out. But yet I get more bills from them for the same thing last week. I believe that this company is fraudulent, and should be held completely responsible for their actions or lack there of. Thought you might like to know that this issue is not only affecting customers in Ohio, and NY, but in Il as well. Thank you for your time.

Everyone within the circles of dental regulation knew what was going on. The initial news is that Allcare dental offices closed their doors abruptly. But there is a great deal behind this. Here is just a part of it:

Dentists have repeatedly reported the unethical and unlawful Aspen/Allcare business model. They have made repeated complaints to the Executive Director and the Investigators of the Ohio State Dental Board. The Ohio State Dental Board is the government agency responsible for protecting the citizens of Ohio from illegal dental business practices. They are also the agency that is empowered to regulate and prevent dental care that is below the standard of care or any violation of the Ohio Revised Code covering the practice of dentistry in Ohio. Lili Reitz is a lawyer and is the Executive Director of the Ohio State Dental Board. Cathy Carson and Harry Pasku are the dental board Investigators.

Lili Reitz, Executive Director of the Dental Board has brought discredit to herself and the profession of dentistry. It is time for Lili Reitz and dental board investigators Cathy Carson and Harry Pasku to resign or be removed. They knew what was going on. And they knew it for the past five years. Dentists employed by Aspen/Allcare, past and present employment, practically begged the Ohio State Dental Board to step in and do their job. Many of these dentists were certain that the Ohio State Dental Board would close these Aspen/Allcare dental offices. Lili, Cathy, and Harry did nothing. This is the real story. But there is more, far more.

This seems to be the the standard of practice in the industry. I had an issue with being billed for work that wasn't done by a private practice dentist in Columbus and I took it to the Board. I found out that "the Board" is a bunch of self-regulating dentists that have NO actual legal/judicial power. Dentists can basically charge you whatever they want and write the bill to reflect whatever charges they want it to. i switched to a large franchise operation like Allcare and the amount I paid out-of-pocket and the amount my insurance statement says I was responsible for are HUNDREDS of dollars different.
just saying

The price of gold has gone up. Don't expect the dentist to absorb the costs of expensive grillwork.

Aspen/Allcare and Ohio State Dental Board Executive Director Lili Reitz
The closing of Allcare Dental did not happen overnight. Their shady business and dental practices have been known in Ohio for more than 5 years. Everyone within the circles of dental regulation knew what was going on at Aspen/Allcare. The initial news is that Allcare dental offices closed their doors abruptly. Here is just a part of this story.

For years dentists have told the Executive Director and Dental Investigators of the Ohio State Dental Board that the Aspen/Allcare business model is unethical and unlawful. The Ohio State Dental Board is the government agency responsible for protecting the citizens of Ohio from illegal dental procedures and business practices. The Ohio State Dental Board is the agency that is empowered to regulate and prevent dental care that is below the standard of care. They are responsible for the dental profession by enforcing those parts of the Ohio Revised Code that cover the practice of dentistry in Ohio. Lili Reitz, a lawyer, is the Executive Director of the Ohio State Dental Board. Kathy Carson, Gail Davis, and Harry Pasku are the dental board’s Investigators. They were supposed to protect the citizens of Ohio.

Lili Reitz, Executive Director of the Dental Board has brought discredit to herself, Ohio regulatory and legislative bodies, and the profession of dentistry. It is time for Lili Reitz and dental board investigators Kathy Carson, Gail Davis, and Harry Pasku to resign or be removed. They knew what was going on. And they knew it for the past five years. Dentists employed by Aspen/Allcare, past and present, practically begged the Ohio State Dental Board to step in and do their job. Many of these dentists were certain that the Ohio State Dental Board would close the Ohio Aspen/Allcare dental offices before anyone got hurt. Some 150,000 to 200,000 Ohio dental patients have been “abandoned”. These patients have been denied care and many have lost money. Lili Reitz, Cathy Carson, Gail Davis, and Harry Pasku did nothing. This is a part of the story.

Dear "YOU People",
The Ohio State Dental Board has two parts that are disfunctional. A group of Dentists, as you say, and an Excutive Director and her Dental Inspectors. Two separate bodies that comprise the Ohio State Dental Board. The Executive Director and the Inspectors are just not doing a very good job.
