I used for 2 days and ate a piece of ham noticed it had no taste... Took a few seconds for that salty taste.. But the meat had zero taste. The following morning I ate a chocolate chip cookie and it had zero taste. Zero... No sweet, nothing. I panicked and found this site in a search. I also have a knot in ea cheek near upper gum. Not open sore.. Sensitive though.
I called crest. They offered me coupons for more crest. I asked for reimbursement. They agreed. He told me this was the first complaint he got on this product that it affected taste. Bs. He put me on line w specialist and they told me the CPc in it may cause temp taste loss in small percentage of users.

My dentist just recommended Crest Pro-Health after my cleaning last week. I've only used it twice and now have a permanent burning sensation and pain in my jaw near my ear. Throwing the product away and I'm finding a new dentist!
Of course the dentist recommended it! When the staining appears on your teeth from the mouthwash you'll be running back in to him to clean it off! No dentist can play ignorant about Crest Pro-Health. I've known about the staining for at least 4 years. Jerks! I'm sorry this happened to you-it happened to me also. Find a new dentist and don't look back.:)

I just had the same thing happen to me. This is awful! I bought the Crest Pro Health because it was alcohol free and I just had my lip pierced. After only 3 days my gums are red and irritated and my taste buds are burnt as well. I can't taste anything.

Wow! My tongue is black and I didn't know why. I am so glad I decided to get information on the Clinical Crest Pro health mouthwash. I've using this product twice a day three days. Now my tongue is swelling and my throat hurts.

I used the rinse and experienced numbness and loss if taste for days (after a single use!). No real pain though. Thinking it was a fluke, I tried again a month or so later with the same results. Horrific product!

I just threw it away! I had no idea that it was causing my tongue to crack and kill my taste buds.

I used Crest prohealth toothpaste and developed sore in the month. My gum was so red and hurt really bad. At one point, my lip was so puffy. I ended up going to doctor and she gave me steroid for this allergic reaction. As soon as I stopped using crest and switched to Tom's toothpaste, my mouth got so much better. I still have some sore, but I can eat food without problem. why does this product still on the market? What can we do?

Just started using crest pro health clinical cpc anti gingivitis/anti plaque mouthwash 2 days ago and my gums are full of little white painful lesions (I think they're canker sores) which I've never had until I started using this product!! It burned so bad when using it and My gums/cheeks are so sore I can barely eat or brush my teeth. I will NEVER use crest again.

I used crest pro-health rinse approximately 3-4 x now and at first I noticed a little gum soreness and quite a bit of foaming around my gums & didnt think much of it. My last rinse caused an area of my gums to turn really white temporarily and severely burn. I got worried and did some research. Wow, can't believe how many other people are having the same problem. I'm going to stop use immediately and follow up with a dentist ASAP. Im gong to call Crest in the AM and file a claim this is ridiculous!

I have been using both crest pro health mouthwash and toothpaste for about 6 months. I have no taste of any kind except onions, chives and things of that nature. Now I am experiencing neck and severe chest pains and am very concerned! Is anyone else having chest pains as well?

I have been using this product for a year, as I get dry mouth and am prone to gingivitis. I haven't had any problems. But I can definatley believe that some harsh chemicals in there could easily do what you're all talking about. I was very surprised to find this and I'm going to ask my dentist and my pharmacist what they think about it. What I can recommend is biotene, it's more expensive, but works well and seems gentle, and just plain peroxide.

Ryan- I too was having what I thought was chest pain. I think it as esophagus pain that would radiate across my chest. It really scared me. After a a week or so after I stopped using this stuff it went away, thankfully. It has been a couple months since I stopped using Pro health toothpaste I can finally say I am healed from the damage it caused. I can eat and cold hot drinks/food now and my taste is back.

After just ONE day of using Crest Pro Health toothpaste, I had that white slimy stuff all over my mouth and a fuzzy feeling tongue. Unbelievable!! How could Crest get away with marketing such a product? I threw it out last night, but my tongue still doesn't feel right. I'm going back to AquaFresh which I've never had a problem with.
I strongly agree. They want me to send them back the two tubes and get a coupon! I am going to sen these tubes to a laboratory then to curt! My throat, tongue, jaw, voicebox feel like they do not belong to me!

Wow. I've been using it twice a day for a couple of weeks. My tongue has been raw and numb and taste buds gone but I thought maybe I had burned my tongue cause I like my food and coffee hot. But a couple days ago I glimpsed my tongue being black and I freaked out. I was so scared. Was thinking I could have cancer of the tongue or something. I started thinking about everything I had eaten or done and then it hit me so I googled black tongue and BAM. Here I am reading everything I have experienced. Now I'm just hoping I get my taste buds back. I will be very pissed if I don't. My tongue is still very raw and numb. I scrubbed the black away so now I just need the raw to go away and get my taste buds back. This goes to show u can't just trust a product because it has been on the shelves for a long time. I am so disappointed in crest now. Wow!

This is the best diet product on the market. After only one use I couldn't taste food and my salivary glands were so swollen that it hurt to bad to eat. For dental hygiene, I wouldn't recommend it at all but for diet or drain cleaner, it's an awesome product.

Oh geez. I just started using this on Monday and the tip of my tongue felt like I burned it, it has been sore for two days and stuff just doesn't taste like it usually does.. Then I noticed that the part where the tongue connects to the bottom of my mouth was sore. It felt like a rough patch. I thought what have I changed? So I googled Crest Clinical side effects and here I am. It is getting dumped in the sink when I get home in 1.5 hours.

I used the green Crest Pro-health mouthwash for about 2 months and it gradually turned my teeth brown. Yes, not yellow but dark brown and certain teeth looked as through i had never brushed them in years. The dentist was able to get it off and said that the active chemical WILL cause staining and this product should only be used if you have severe gingivitis. So unless you have severe problems, STAY AWAY FROM THIS PRODUCT because it WILL stain your teeth.

By the way, I had previously used the normal, blue crest mouthwash and had never had a problem
