Over the last 20 years I have had 3 sets of dentures made at Sexton's. I just can't afford anywhere else. Thank goodness my teeth had already been pulled. I took my Aunt and she had an awful experience with the dentist. I'm still wearing my old bottom plate from 2 visits ago because they can't get them right, told me to come back later. I paid that day, should have gotten teeth that fit that day. I do have a great full upper denture that allows me to eat without pain.

I've also had service at Sexton in Florence. Twice for me and once so far for my wife. My word for it? Assembly line. Can't beat the price though, and for those with little to no choice, I think it's a great place. I went the first time and got my remaining 14 teeth pulled, and immediate denture. Since day one they havn't really fit right. My bite is WAY off. THey tell me I have a class3 Underbite (I think that's how they referred to it). I didn't have an underbite at all before I got my work done, and my teeth were straight. I'm kinda taking it in stride right now, hoping when they make my Permanent set, that we can rectify the problem. My Second visit was for the 3 month reline, this is when I thought they would fix my bite, but that's when the dentist said "Ah, just do the reline". And that was that. My wife had to have the same procedure but with 32 teeth. Needless to say I was concerned about her going here because of the "assembly line" feel and service I've encountered. But without much choice, see went and got her work done Thursday (May 29) and she said her service was fine. She's very happy with them. You can't really expect them to be like a "real" dentist considering their prices verses the "competition", so all in all, I would give them a 7/10. THis may get better or worse depending on the outcome of my permanent set.

about a year ago i need some extractions..iknew there would be a wait that is advertiesed in online and heard it from quite a few people who already had visited,,,,Dr John Clark was the Dental Jawbreaker for me,,,after having another procedure done upstairs by a caring Dr Boykin who is no longer there i hear ,,i was sent downstairs to get my extraction,,i made a comment about being Gentle well what did i say that for when he started to do the extraction he literally beat the two teeth out of my mouth the two assistants there were sweating from watching him << i also needed a Drs excuse because i could not return to work and was told by him he couldnt do that i was able to work my face was swollen for 3 days after this ordeal< i immediatley went back upstairs and got my excuse from the Dr Boykin who done my first procedure... i dont recommend extractions there due to the unfeeling staff in the Downstairs area,,but Upstairs is a differnece of day and night......!!!!

I am originally from NY, I went thru a NITEMARE in NY with who was supposed to be "the best" in a very high-end dental office...I went in to get a lower made..they extracted everything THEN took a panoramic x-ray (after? when its too late?)..then jammed a lower into my mouth that was NOT mine, the mold couldnt have been mine..it was 3x as wide as my mouth was and they insisted it was mine instead of calling the lab they deal with immediately....apparantly someone got MINE and I got someone else's..HOWEVER THE DENTIST UP THERE WOULDNT CALL-WOULDNT REMAKE ME ONE THAT FIT-WOULDNT DO A THING EXCEPT TELL ME FOR 1/2 THE PRICE I JUST PAID HIM (again?) HE WOULD MAKE ME ANOTHER! I SAID WHY WOULD I PAY YOU FOR IT WHEN I ALREADY PAID YOU TO MAKE ME SOMETHING THAT I DONT HAVE..YOU MAKE THE PIECE TO FIT THE PATIENT...YOU DONT MAKE THE PATIENT TO FIT THE PIECE..he tried to scam out of it by telling me i had to go for BONE SHAVING...$2,600 later i STILL have no piece (how lovely)..and I am sure that he used it towards maybe his NEW CAR or his condo..or maybe his house in the country..or the condo he keeps his girlfriend in (mind you he is married)..and here i am..$2,600 less and nothing to show for it....I HAVE FRIENDS THAT HAD WONDERFUL EXPERIENCE AND CANT SAY NICE ENOUGH ABOUT THE STAFF AT SEXTON...BEAUTIFUL NEW SMILES..AND THEY ALL SAID IT WAS WORTH THE DRIVE...I AM GOING THERE!

Hi everyone! I have been twice to Sexton Dental Clinic. My mom went there way back when to get her dentures. I was nervous; but the nurse made me feel very comfortable. Now I got all of my uppers pulled. Look folks, it's not pleasant. There is nothing to be said. The novacaine shots hurt more than the removal of teeth. I actually had to see all doctors that day because I had done so much work to my uppers; they felt that I should not get dentures; but I could not afford the $8000 to probably "hold off" my teeth for five years. Yes, it took a few months to completely heal. I believe I lived on applesauce for a while and I was in pain; but that is what happens when you remove that many teeth. I went back last year to get a better fitting pair since my gums were no longer swollen and was just fine. I am going back next week to get my bottom real teeth cleaned and whitened. I don't expect any issues; but I'll comment again if I find this rudeness. I think what people may be misunderstanding is that Sexton has been at it for so long; they know what to expect so it is very orderly and businesslike to a degree. They cannot have people screaming out and frightening everyone. I am proud to say I didn't scream when my teeth were removed. My mouth all stuffed with gauze and full of blood though.

And again, my uppers and teeth removal maybe cost me $450 at most. Even though we drove up from Tampa; it was still a steal and same day service as well. You can't beat it. I used to live in LA; and I dealt with some jerky dentists who wanted to give me that "perfect Hollywood" smile. I don't have the money or desire to finance it. These dentists were all about money and had not a care in the world about their patients.

REALITY CHECK

Sexton dental clinic has been in business for 85 years, they have the lowest prices in all of America, including Hawaii Alaska.

Average cost of a simple extraction in a private dental practicein Americais $120.00 simple extraction/tooth.
Sexton charges $18.00/tooth

Average price for a denture per arch in a private practice is $1200.00 per arch.$2400.00 for a full set.
Sexton charges $260.00 full set 130/arch.

If all you whiners want to be treated like a king and queen stay at home get your dentures, not only will it take you 3-4 weeks to get them, it will take multiple visits and the price is almost 10 times what sexton charges, stay at home pay the money there are 150,000 dentist in America Sexton is not the only dental practice.
This clinic has helped millions of patients in the 85 years they have been in business, the people that complain would complain any way, I urge you stay home get treated like a king and queen or go to Sexton save some money and get it the same day, my mom and dad both got there dentures at Sexton and have been happy, but adjustments did need to be made that is part of dentures. I encourage all you cheap whiny people got to the ADA America Dental Association check out the facts on the prices, stay home, get ripped off..........idiots.
As I read all the blogs I see there are a few people that stir up negativity, these people would be unhappy anywhere they went.

Are all your comments about the Florence Office?? I have heard very good reviews on the Myrtle Beach office. My Dad is a cancer patient and will not put him through any abuse. He has already had the needed extractions. Just need dentures (full upper, partial lower) made. Can anyone comment on the denture experience/value?

I went there years ago to have one tooth pulled, The guy came in there & I said hi. He never said a word, pushed my head back & ramed the needle in & never gave it a chance to get numb before pulling the tooth. Only time in my life I had tears after going to a dentist. A elderly lady came out behind me & she was crying. Needless to say I have never been back, nor will I ever go back. It's not nessary to hurt people like that.

i live in s.c. and have all my life.i know of people who haved used the clinic and have had no problems, and always have heard good things about them.
how ever when i went 2 weeks ago to have my upper teeth pulled, and to get dentures, it was a nightmare for me and another ladie who i could hear from the other room. the dentist who numded me and pulled my teeth was a ruthless cold hearted man, he was so mean to me and to the first ladie who litterly got up out of his chair after pulling a few teeth and made him stop so she could go up stairs to be put to sleep.
i never saw he again, becouse i really wonted to speak to her about our ordeal.
is there anyone out there that has heard of anything like this or how was your visit.
some of the staff was really nice and some were just downright rude.
ya know when your a doctor or any one who deals with the public, you really should have compassion for peolpe, but this dentist was very rude to me, even going as far as to tell me " the pain is all in your head" now to let all of you know, he did stop and yelled at me tbe put under, in which i told him i didnt have the $240.00 to do that right now, then i have to pleed with him to keep on, while the whole time he was very rough and kept on with his rude remarks and haveing a really harsh tone.
so if any one knows any thing like this please tell me how i should feel or what i shoul do.
sheryl, i'm from here too and no things should not be done like this in s.c., what ever happened to southern hospitalty?
