Why some never did get a veterans funeral was they never could come up with a name or SS number to trace who he was or is.
We have some here in Oklahoma who have waited months to be placed in the ground but they do not know who he is or is there any family or was he a Veteran.
They do finger prints if they can and post a photo to see if any one knows HIM?
After 4 months they burie him ..........
city and state pay the bills.
I say some are Veterans but some have been on the streets and die in homes with NO paper work and make it hard to trace who he is and in most cases if they find out he is a veteran the VA does step in.
