I find it interesting, that, especially with FMN and its past ties to a commuter such as Mesa Airlines to where it first pioneered so many, many, many years ago, that the newspaper of the community cannot go as far to research proper data and use it for such an article.
Above, find the picture of the gentleman standing in front of the stored B1900D, and then click on the second picture to which the US Airways Express ticket counter is shown. Then read the clip, and sadly enough, maybe such a very small factor, but the airline hasn't offered two daily flights from FMN to PHX in quite a very long time. Another missed opportunity for media to truly present an article that is well-researched, thought provoking, or just a chance to relive the true history of the commuter airline that built its foundation a very long time ago there in FMN, but no, let's just print a second class article to fill the space.
Lack luster and truly depressing, maybe to future commuter airlines looking to provide new service to the area this will reflect the true community support. Living in another comparable community just a bit larger then FMN and served by Mesa Airline's Air Midwest division, would I rather have their service or none at all? I think I'll go with their service, contrary to so many others that love to jump on the "hate Mesa" bandwagon, and why, for no reason at all. They don't know one thing or another about the true airline industry other then some b/s article they've probably read lately about lawsuits against the airline on behalf of Hawaiian and Aloha and well too bad, it's the nature of the beast and it's called competition and I didn't hear all those passengers that have flown those routes since the added competition complain about the more affordable fares they're paying, nope, but they'll be the first to run their mouth negatively. Shut it!!! I have no more time nor patience to allow another to think they have an opinion about an industry that I work in and so hard fight to keep alive when they're paying $29 for a one way fare that before-hand was well over $100. It's time for something to happen and for it to happen quickly here in the states regarding our airline commerce, just in the past month alone, what, is Air Midwest now the sixth airline to shut down and others have already filed CH11 protection. Use it, or lose it, because the industry is changing folks and maybe the next round of cuts won't effect small communities such as FMN or where I reside and larger cities will start to feel the heat. I hope so..........
