What??? You mean I can't maintain a good living with a high school diploma and no training? People - I feel bad for the folks who are losing their jobs, but if you really think that you can continue to maintain a middle class living without some training and college - you are wrong.
Go back to school and you won't be in this situation.

You were being sarcastic! Hahaha. Of course it's not all W's fault. It's Mitch's fault! But what is really bizzare though, is Greensburg has a "commerce connector" Interstate, plus IT'S ON DST! And still it's losing jobs. That IS odd.

Yes, a commerce connector is going to help me guy a faucet. Darn, I guess since they laid off a part of their workforce, Honda shouldn't come. Time to go to Ivy Tech!

Honda not come? After we agreed to buy 'em new roads, water lines, sewer lines, and to let 'em enjoy unlimited stays in the Gov's Mansion with the first daughters?!?! That's outrageous!! Say "hi" to Bauer and Garton at Ivy Tech!

As a college student who worked at the Greensburg plant two summers ago, I can't say that I'm shocked to hear this news. When I worked there, there was a complete lack of communication among supervisors and management. It wasn't uncommon for temps to be sent home because management told PMI that they needed some temps while the supervisors had nothing for them to do. Quality control was in the toilet as well, on my last day we had a meeting with the plant manager who told us that if quality control didn't dramatically improve then they were facing a possible closure.

Surprised Delta Faucet lasted this long in Indiana. Would have thought they were wise enough to recognize the lay of the land when O'Bannon after wastefully spending a surplus, enacted massive tax increases and spent that too. Kernan and Daniels continued this poor stewardship. What business can afford to operate in a state with onerous taxation and a continuing to grow bloated incompetent state bureaucracy? By staying in Indiana, Delta faucet has done nothing to benefit the company and its shareholders.

And the higher management failed the shareholders by remaining in Indiana. History has shown that businesses that function for the benefit of employees will fail.

Here's hoping Mitch is turned down as taxpayers can't afford to subsidize other businesses when government is extracting so much from their own. Employers have fled Indiana courtesy of state government's mismanagement and another term with Mayor Bart will see more exiting.

If they do manufacture products in Mexico, China or India, the quality will be improved and consumers in Indiana will benefit. It's somwhat like the automobile industry where American made equals poor quality. And for that we have the unions to thank. But the real sufferers are the shareholder owners of Delta Faucet.

Concerned wrote: what a shame...all good jobs are leaving central Indiana..Thanks China! First it's not just central part of Indiana, but the entire state that's suffering. Thank state government beginning with era of Frank O'Bannon and his wasteful spending followed by massive tax increases and enlarging of state bureaucracy. All at taxpayers expense. And Indianapolis is following suit since days of Jeff Goldsmith. Mayor Bart can't manage a one car funeral procession successfully. Granted he can wastefully spend monies with anyone including Frank O'Bannon, Joe Kernan and Mitch Daniels and their cronies in The General Assembly. Businesses have fled Indiana due to onerous taxation and mismanagement of state government. They recognize that it's government 1st and taxpayers last in Indiana and they go out of the country or to less onerous taxation states like Texas, Tennessee, etc.

Yeah - the problems with Indiana is all (insert whomever here - Bush, Mitch, O'Bannon, the republicans, the liberals) fault. For the love of god people - accept some personal responsibility.
It costs $1,000 more in health care costs for an employer to cover a worker in Indiana than the average for the rest of the country. Hoosiers are fatter - smokier and less healthy than others.
We have uneducated workers and one of the lowest college educated percentages in the nation. Our drop out rates (at least in Marion county) are enough to make you puke.
But instead of fixing these problems - our enlightened state legislators focus on having a prayer in their session. Or passing laws against those horrible gay people. Or - better yet - lets debate the stupid DST issue for another 20 years.
Then you have a guy like Daniels who is trying to move the state forward and all he does it get attacked for trying to raise dollars for programs without raising taxes.
