Financial information firm Markit said on Tuesday its U.S. "flash" manufacturing Purchasing Managers Index for July fell to 51.8 from 52.5 in June. July marked the fourth consecutive month of slower growth and the sector's weakest showing since December, 2010.

The index remained above 50, indicating factory activity continued to expand, only less rapidly.

New orders for exports fell outright for the second straight month, the first back-to-back decline in nearly three years, Markit said, as recession in Europe dented demand.

"The U.S. manufacturing sector is clearly struggling under the pressure from falling exports," said Chris Williamson, chief economist at Markit. "Reassuringly, domestic demand appears to be showing ongoing signs of resilience, encouraging firms to take on more staff."

In 2010, influenced by the Tea Party and its focus on fiscal issues, 17 states elected Republican governors. And, according to an Examiner.com analysis, every one of those states saw a drop in their unemployment rates since January of 2011. Furthermore, the average drop in the unemployment rate in these states was 1.35%, compared to the national decline of .9%, which means, according to the analysis, that the job market in these Republican states is improving 50% faster than the national rate.

If it is a union made product, I wouldn't count on the quality.

Low taxes, right to work, and less regulations, that's what you stated, right?

Why do those low tax, low regulation states also pay the lowest wages?

For the record imbecile, many southern states still retain the highest unemployment, except for CA and Nevada;

On the other hand, a few dollars less pay is better than none.

When the Bethlehem Steel went down, it was talk that the workers would take a pay cut, if someone bought it and kept it functioning. The people were still happy to have a job with benefits.

Of course when a pay cut was mentioned, not 8.00 an hour. Happy to get 15.00 hr. with the cost of living and all. Of coarse we can't get 40.00 an hour like were used to, we have to bite the bullet a little while to get work back here. But, at the same time they, the big business owners, corps, need to realize the people can't live on slave wages either. There has to be some give and take here.

After all a better payed and better treated employee results in a high quality product. So it's a win, win situation all around.

This strategy kind of reminds me of the movie GUNG-HO, from the 1980's.

It was a comedy about the Japanese buying an auto plant, starring Michael Keaton. The Americans took a pay cut in order to keep their jobs. This was a very funny and to me, educational.

{theirs not enought US COMPANIES TO SUPPLY ALL THE PARTS,.}
THEY ARE PROBABLY ASSEMBLED IN THE USA, WITH FOREIGN PARTS. ever heard of MUNTZ TV?
.....the help of partners Tongfang Global and Lotus, we were able to make our American dream come true.”

]....Element Electronics is not a "white" or "house" brand for any retailer. Element TVs are manufactured by the same companies that manufacture TVs that carry the RCA brand name, and they are simply a lower priced option to the RCA brand name. That is all, they are their own company they simply use the same manufacturers as RCA. I sell quite a lot of these TVs at my job and I even own two, they are decent TVs for the money and I have zero complaints.
