I work at Lennox facility in Blackville, S.C., We are in the process of closing down - AC/HP product going to Mexico, the rest to another plant.
We are losing our jobs to cheap labor and we are not union! Regardless of what anyone thinks or says it's all about the money. Why pay us $12.00 -$14.00 an hour when you can get it for less than a buck! Mexico is the job markets "Dollar Menu"
Get used to it.

Lennox would tell us all these lies at work & the union would be fighting for the workers rights but, lennox would always find a way to change the rules. we worked in the factory in marshalltown, alot of workers including myself were very angry when they announced this over a 1yr & 1/2 ago, saying they (lennox) were building a new site in mexico.
Iowa is where they import illegals and export other jobs!

The Lennox plant in Marshalltown will not close if the people stay positive and focused. This is just another bump in the road for them.
The Lennox plant in Mexico has been mismanaged and continues to be mismanaged. If things are not corrected, and soon, the plant in Mexico will be a non-issue.
I think Lennox would rather go bankrupt than admit they made a mistake by moving jobs to Mexico.

My husband found out last week that Lennox/Heatcraft is buying out Kysor/Warren from Manitowoc. Should I be concerned? We already live paycheck-to-paycheck.

Year after year Lennox keeps going down hill starting when they closed it manufacturing plant in Columbus, Ohio. Marshalltown felt relieved and thought it could never happen to them. Management told the workers that Marshalltown workers were more productive than their Columbus counterparts. Is management telling the workers in Marshalltown now that the nonskilled mexican workers are better prepared to build their products than the seasoned veterens? I personally will be happy when this greedy company goes out of business.
